Among the highest capacity double deckers in the country are Nottingham City Transport's Scania Omnidekkas. Here 976 - YT59 OZS, an N270UD with H51/35F bodywork, works a tram replacement service from The Forest to Wilkinson Street when the NET system was partially closed for track repairs.
Functioning infrastructure seems to be slipping further and further down the list of priorities these days. Replacement is increasingly becoming the norm in a very often dysfunctional city. People try to adapt.

Okay, I admit it. I'm really set in my ways and I'm no longer a big fan of change. Time marches on, and all that, but in my opinion, this bench wreaks of commercialism compared with the beautiful, old decorated concrete bench that used to be here. I used to call that bench, "Tigger's Bench", since it was where I took my favorite shot of Tigger which I called, "How Could You Leave Me?" Tigger would often get on that bench and turn his back to me when he knew I was leaving, and when I'd talk to him, he'd whip his tail in disapproval, sulking the whole time! Eventually, he didn't leave me anymore, as I adopted him and took him home to live with me, but when HE left me for good, I had the photo framed to always remember my Tigger.
No matter WHAT bench they put in its place, I would never have liked it. It does show that there are people in our community who are committed to keeping this park beautiful, though, and a friend of mine from high school, Ann Pinitiliano is named on this bench as one of them. I guess you can't give credit where credit is due on a concrete bench. At least this one won't be missed as much when it is replaced by another.
The original bench is in the first comment below.

Replacing an airplane tire just before takeoff is a critical task that requires efficiency and precision to ensure the safety and readiness of the aircraft. Here is an outline of the process:
### Steps for Replacing an Airplane Tire Before Takeoff
1. **Safety Precautions**:
- Ensure the aircraft is securely parked with the parking brakes engaged.
- Use wheel chocks to prevent any movement.
- Ensure all personnel are wearing appropriate safety gear, including gloves and protective eyewear.
2. **Gathering Equipment**:
- Obtain the necessary tools, including jacks, wrenches, torque wrench, and the replacement tire.
- Ensure the replacement tire meets the specifications for the aircraft model.
3. **Raising the Aircraft**:
- Use hydraulic jacks to lift the part of the aircraft where the tire needs replacement. This step requires careful attention to the aircraft's balance and weight distribution.
4. **Removing the Old Tire**:
- Deflate the old tire to prevent any pressure-related injuries.
- Remove the wheel nuts or bolts using the appropriate wrench.
- Carefully remove the old tire from the wheel assembly.
5. **Inspecting the Wheel and Brakes**:
- Inspect the wheel assembly and brake components for any signs of damage or wear.
- Clean the wheel hub and ensure it is free from debris.
6. **Installing the New Tire**:
- Place the new tire onto the wheel assembly, ensuring it is properly aligned.
- Tighten the wheel nuts or bolts by hand initially, then use a torque wrench to secure them to the manufacturer's specified torque settings.
7. **Lowering the Aircraft**:
- Carefully lower the aircraft back to the ground using the hydraulic jacks.
- Remove the wheel chocks and any other safety equipment used.
8. **Final Checks**:
- Inspect the newly installed tire to ensure it is properly seated and inflated to the correct pressure.
- Perform a visual inspection to confirm there are no loose components or issues with the installation.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are cleared from the vicinity of the aircraft.
### Time Sensitivity and Coordination
Given the time-sensitive nature of a pre-takeoff tire replacement, this process must be performed swiftly and accurately. Coordination with the flight crew and ground control is crucial to minimize delays. Communication with the maintenance team is essential to ensure all steps are followed meticulously without compromising safety.
### Record Keeping
Finally, proper documentation of the tire replacement must be completed. This includes recording the tire's serial number, the date and time of replacement, the personnel involved, and any other relevant details. This documentation is vital for maintaining the aircraft's maintenance records and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations.

Two former Norfolk Southern GP38-2s rest at the Buckingham Branch yard in Doswell, sandwiching a GP16. Recently acquired from NS, these engines floated around in patched black paint for a while before mercifully being repainted in company colors. Their noses were chopped along the way, and today these engines are standard BB road power.
