Scattered shadows on a wall, you watch the long light fall
Some impressions stay and some will fade
Tattered shoes outside your door, clothes all on the floor
Your life feels like the morning after all year long.
Every day it starts again
You cannot say if you’re happy
You keep trying to be
Try harder, maybe this is not your year.
Movies, TV screens reflect just what you expected
There’s a world of shiny people somewhere else
Out there following their bliss
living easy, getting kissed
while you wonder what else you’re doing wrong
Breathe through it, write a list of desires
Make a toast, make a wish, slash some tires
Paint a heart repeating, beating “don’t give up, don’t give up, don’t give up.”

A single frame of a kids toy. Single gymnast flipping around. The latest flash heads have a feature called repeating flash ("Multi" mode on nissin). In this mode the flash fires the set number of times at the set frequency. This allows a moving subject to be captured in a single frame. The shutter was open in Bulb mode.
Number of Flashes: 1 ( Nissin Di866)
Mode: Multi flash. flash set to fire 5 times at a frequency of 10 Mhz
Position: Camera left

My 2nd visit to Kaieteur Falls = the largest (in volume) single drop waterfall in the world, where the Potaro River falls 741 ft in the Pakaraima Mountain Range. The top of the falls is about 1500 above sea level.
This image fulfils requirement 4 - repeating patterns. I chose this shot because it features three conflicting patterns. The windows, the shadow, and the padded panels. I took this photo with my A7m3 with a 55mm f/1.8. I had the camera in aperture priority and closed the aperture to 2.2 to get the DoF to cover the whole scene. I let the camera choose the shutter speed and ISO.
In post process, I cropped the image, and increased the contrast to emphasise the pattern and remove distractions.
repeating and expanding on this moment from the original set.
the guy on the left had more influence on me than he'll ever know, hope he's still out there working. these are the only two frames i have of him. you can't even tell he's a photographer unless you happen to see the camera in his hand in frame two. he was standing like a statue in this wild crowd, looking completely disinterested but seeing everything. it was the closest i've ever been to a street photographer when they're doing that jedi mind trick where their body language screams "don't notice me."
Edited fabric pattern for Japanese clothes from the de Young Museum in San Francisco. The patterns all repeat in at least one direction.

The Daily Shoot assignment for 2010/08/12 was: Find a repeating pattern and make a photo of it today.
My first successful attempt to photograph our home, the Milky Way galaxy.
The skies over Shenandoah National Park are spectacularly dark and clear. Once your eyes get adjusted, a blur of white light, showing the billions of stars and massive dust clouds of the Milky Way, is easily visible.
The bright star at the top middle is Vega, the fifth brightest star in the night sky and relatively close at only 25 light-years from Earth.
Vega is 2.1 times as massive as the Sun. Historically, Vega was used as the baseline from which the brightness of all stars were measured.
Observations show a smooth and symmetric debris ring surrounding Vega. Irregularities in Vega's disk suggest the presence of at least one planet, likely to be about the size of Jupiter. There could be smaller, terrestrial planets orbiting closer to the star.
From the perspective of an observer on a hypothetical planet around Vega, the Sun would appear as a faint 4.3 magnitude star.
In the movie Contact, Jodie Foster's character finds a strong signal repeating a sequence of prime numbers emitted from Vega. She eventually travels through a series of wormholes and observes a radio array–like structure at Vega, as well as signs of a highly advanced civilization on a nearby planet.
Aside from Vega, a dazzling variety of star colors can be seen, each color signifying a different star temperature. There's even a shooting star in there.

Wine tasting evening tonight.
La Grotta di Buontalenti
Statues, sculpture modern and ancient are around every corner, each one worthy of more than a passing look. so much so that a lot of your time is spent saying absolutely nothing. the reason being that you quickly find you are repeating your descriptive adjective and adverbs which on repeating quickly loose there emphasis. So just look and enjoy.
Out and about this afternoon, I was taken with the combination of light, shadow, and glistening water on this manhole cover.
