I saw this herb garden in the garden of a cafe near Civic Square when I was introducing some Momentum members to geocaching.

A leap forward in weapon technology, the Spencer Repeating Rifle featured a 7 round magazine. Number 5 Company of the Queen's Own Rifles were equipped with these weapons at Ridgeway.

I loved the colour and geometry of these lampshades in this chinese restaraunt. Unfortunately I was bumped as I took the photo and then the camera's batteries ran out!

In this project I found multiple objects with repeating patterns and leading lines. This shows that we do not normally recognize certain details in everyday life such as these. A repeating pattern is a certain aspect of the photographed subject that appears multiple times. A leading line a certain perspective that creates a line that leads the viewer throughout the image. I photographed things from my backyard and at one of my family members house.

The first subject I photographed for leading lines was the yellow lines on the street near my cousins house. On our way home my dad and I realized the lines and the slight elevation to the street, so we stopped and took a photo. The perspective of the photo from down low emphasizes the lines running throughout the photograph. When cropped in Photoshop I also raised the saturation level and added contrast and brightness, in order to make the yellow lines stand out more and emphasize the leading line even more.

My second subject that I photographed for repeating patterns is of the AC machine thingy near my pool in the backyard. The circular lines on the top create a ripple effect of lines. I took this photo depth of field taken into consideration to make the photo look a bit more interesting. I was just walking in my backyard looking for repeating patterns and leadings lines in objects and found this. I had also found chair sin arrow, patterns on the chairs, walls, and even on the floor and pool, as well as flowerpots. When cropped in Photoshop I also raised the saturation level and added contrast and brightness, in order to make the photo pop a bit more and not look so dull.

I enjoyed this project because I really got a chance to take a look at nature and life and look for certain aspects of life I wouldn’t notice at first sight. I also noticed in Photoshop that when adjusting an aspect such as saturation I had to also adjust other aspects so that the colors and shadows would be balanced and no one color would stand out. This project taught me that humans take many things in life for granted or do not pay attention to the odd repeating patterns and lines that appear naturally in daily life. I will now look at things differently than I used to.
