The renderers are at work: they have applied a base coat onto a mesh finish and here are applying the final coating.Windows and doors are covered over, as is the brick plinth below: this is a messy operation!
A rendering I did to test a new free form deformation method for implicit surfaces. All the software used to create this image is written by myself (from modeller to ray tracer).

Very old attempt (2002) to mock up some global illumination with the Maya Renderer (which has no global illumination). Several tricks were used.
Image was inspired by Maya Master Rob Van Den Bragt's one in the glorious ELF beta test site (Embedded LightFlow - the renderer written by my future colleague Jacopo Pantaleoni).

This is a base 3d model I built for a student design competition. Students are asked to redesign the elevator lobby and the building facade for the architecture firm.
As you might recongize, super wide angle lens is used in the rendering, along with correction lens. (Something that I can never afford in real life.... =.=)
