For the Macro Mondays theme 'Refreshment'.
Some people, when the weather is very hot, do like it to have something cold and ice-cold in their mouth, like a little ice-cube, where they also can chew on......not for me though ;-))
But it makes a nice macro, especially in the late afternoon sun.
HMM everyone
… just what the doctor ordered in this weather :-) Well, I couldn’t be there – in Bristol at the time – but my brother was and took the shot. Left the editing to me. Just looking at it makes me feel cooler :-)

Sorry for being off, but it's really too hot here, to sit in front of a monitor more than strictly necessary. Unfortunately it isn't even summer yet, and temperatures are already over 30°C. Even in the evening... We really need all possible refreshment! I will be back as soon as possible and make up for the lost time.
Have a lovely weekend and a good summer start!
Lisa
It is quite well to toss one down every once in a while.

Wherever you are today at these high temperatures, I hope that the cool refreshments will not go out.

Sorry to post another shot of Nev so soon, but I became aware this morning the there are at least two chicks in our Lilly Pilly tree. I spotted the chicks out of the nest on a branch but couldn't get a clear shot of them through the thick foliage. Nev and Mrs. Nev had been busy taking food to the chicks and Nev decided to get some pollen from a plum blossom that is not fully open yet. This shot was taken from our balcony.
Here's another image from my just concluded trip to Kenya!
This elephant was taking advantage of one of the few areas to get fresh water in Ol Pejeta National Reserve, an area in northern Kenya that has become incredibly arid in recent years as a result of our rapidly changing global climate.

The Whirlpool river was named by Sir James Hector in 1859. He noted the presence of many eddies in the river.
