This photo was a treat to an otherwise rainy gloomy day. I was overjoyed to find this lone flower and privledged to photograph it.
Lots of northern flickers ( red shafted ) in the yard, at varying ages their colors differ one from another
Signs say "Do Not Feed" but they didn't say anything about giving a drink! This was taken up top of Angels Landing (1500' straight down right there) in Zion National Park.

It was so refreshing to get all glammed up and have an evening out. I am finding it all a little hard at the moment getting into the real world of work and everyday life.
Take tonight for example. The girls went out from work and weren't due back until late. So when I got home the first thing I did was to change out of my work clothes and change into a flowing maxi dress after have a nice cool shower, I just then pottered around doing a little house work,
It just feel so much more as it should be.
And today was made even better as an old friend posted a couple of photos after almost seven months. It was so nice to see her cheeky smile once more.
The spotless starling dipped his beak into the cool pond water, a mirror for the fading sunset. It had been a long, hot day of foraging. With a sudden, explosive energy, he submerged his chest and began to flail his wings, sending arcs of water silver high into the air.
He ducked, twisted, and soaked every last feather, feeling the dust and heat wash away. For a brief moment, the world was just motion and water, a perfect, invigorating moment of pure joy before shaking himself dry and flying off into the evening twilight.
With the heat and humidity of the Japanese summer, finding such an area in the mountains is so refreshing, for the mind and the body.

Die Gemeinde Gallizien ist ein abseits vom Trubel der heutigen Zeit gelegener idyllischer Ort, welcher sich am Fuße des Hochobirs und am Schnittpunkt des Rosen- und Jauntals in Nähe der Landeshauptstadt Klagenfurt befindet. In einer noch intakten Umwelt leben heute ca. 1800 Einwohner in der 4671 ha großen Landgemeinde.
In Gallizien befinden sich landschaftliche Sehenswürdigkeiten, wie z.B.
- der Wildensteiner Wasserfall
(mit einer freien Fallhöhe von 54 Meter)

The community Gallizien is far away from the hustle and bustle of today and a very idyllic place, which is at the foot of the Hochobir and at the intersection of Rose and Jauntal near the provincial capital Klagenfurt (Austria) . In an intact environment now live about 1800 inhabitants in the 4671-acre rural community.
In Galicia there are scenic attractions, such as
- The wild waterfall with a free fall height of 54 meters....

I've missed shooting in natural light. No light painting. Just multiple exposures manually fused/blended in PS.
I've uploaded a large version (it was slightly cropped from the original shot). It's 6664 x 4443 in size (roughly 15MBs) so you can see the sharpness/clarity.
