Continued from my 'Ugly Fence' Theme a few images along on my photostream.

On Thursday as I wrote before, I had taken a rather unsavoury route home on my bike via the back of a train line, everywhere had ugly metal fences, I guess to stop people getting on to the train line, its not a great place to take a short cut home, especially as a woman, but I did, and I noticed that even in the unlikeliest of places there can be 'Hidden Beauty'. The late afternoon October light had caught the fence and the trailing red leaves caught my eye. For just a little while this ugly wiry fence will be a little bit beautiful. Happy Fence Friday even though its Saturday, I didn't have time to share all my images yesterday ~ KissThePixel2018

Acer leaves in the Arboretum

DEDICATED TO ALL OF MY FLICKR FRIENDS!

Thanks for every View, Fave & especially Comments guys : )

Hi everyone!

This photo was not originally my next choice to upload, but as Valentine's Day

(Hearts Day) is upon us and this is a 'heart shaped' red leaf, I thought it was very fitting : )

This photo is SOOC (straight out of camera) except for being cropped.

The full photo is actually very pretty (IMO) but I wanted the focus to be mostly on the heart shaped leaf : )

(( I did leave some green leaves in the photo for contrast ))

This image was such a lucky catch for me, as I was using my older Sony HX60V and could not see the LCD screen in the bright sunlight while shooting this leaf.

I had to take a photo, hide my camera in the shade from the sun... study the small screen, readjust & shoot again... then repeat!

(( I now have a Sony HX90V with an articulating screen & a viewfinder... it makes a world of difference! ))

I found this batch of bright red leaves in the Autumn last year (November) and returned to it the next day, when the sun was very bright, to capture this particular scene : )

I always liked it but never thought it would be an image I would upload here, so I'm very interested in how the response will be to it.

Happy Valentine's Day to those celebrating it!

If you celebrate this day under a different title (or language), please feel free to list the name of it in your own language in the comments section!

I think we'd all love to hear about it : )

Have a great day guys and thanks for having a look!

I truly appreciate your time : )

CRUSH

Once upon a time, a tiny boy walking in the forest "Redleaf". The spindly trees had red trunk and green leaves. But what made them special were the red leaves at their tops. The boy was dreaming that one day he will be able to sit on one of these gorgeous red leaves and enjoy the view from up there.

Thus, he began to climb and jump from leaf to leaf. As he was climbing higher, the light became stronger, almost blinding. The journey became difficult. Suddenly he heard a strange sound behind him ...

I was showing the barista here at Redleaf Piccolo Cafe (Redleaf Avenue, Wahroonga, in northern Sydney), some of the flower images on my Lenovo laptop, and she decided to pioneer a new pattern on her coffees - a flower pattern in place of the ubiquitous, yet popular, heart shaped patterns!!

The barista here is from a remote and impoverished village in Vietnam, yet here we are in the midst of modern, suburban, Sydney. She is making a name for herself here at Redleaf Piccolo Cafe for innovative coffee roasting and chic coffee art designs. She hopes that maybe one day her parents and sister can come to Australia.

guardando la foglia così trattata mi erano venute in mente diverse frasi di libri, canzoni ecc da accostare alla foto invece adesso guardandola penso che sto bene qui dove sono e non vorrei essere in nessuna altra parte del mondo .

Autumn

The morns are meeker than they were ,

The nuts are getting brown;

The berry's cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown.

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I'll put a trinket on.

"Red Frosty Autumn Leaves Triptych" by Patti Deters. Close-up images of a autumn leaves shows the beautiful and delicate hoar frost that has crystalized on each and every vein and crevice. Hoarfrost can occur on cold, still nights when water vapor in the air creates ice crystals on vegetation that are cooler than the air. Not just a winter phenomenon, it can happen in late autumn or very early spring if weather conditions are right. Each image in this triptych is also available at the links below. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANADA! I know the birthday part is complicated but still Happy Birthday to all of my Canadian friends!

The first leaf of The Fall... always so beautiful, I love the changing of the seasons, there is something magical about each season, every season brings its own treasure. Autumn brings magical warm light. September and Octobers treasure brings such rich colours of Reds and Golds and of course that familiar crunch beneath your feet. Happy Saturday everyone ~ Debbie KissThePixel2019

I took this image with my Lensbaby Twist 60mm on the Nikon DF, but I wanted to get close to get the leaf for a certain perspective, so you lose the sweet spot of the twist. This is the same lens and log and day when I took the image of Daisy Dog being windswept, hence the fallen leaf trapped in the split log.

Posted for the "Smile on Saturday!" theme of 11/1/2025: A SINGLE LEAF.

Okay, I had to do another leaf. Shoot, who wouldn't under the circumstances? Looks like the dew is rusting the leaf.

Backlit leaves of Japanese Maple gleam with a ray of afternoon sun, Jigokudani Monkey Park, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

Between the angles and the fact that the tree had lost most of its leaves already, there weren't many good compositions that revealed themselves to my eye. This one was the most pleasing of the lot, and my hat is off to those people who really know what they're doing when it comes to macros and using bokeh to full effect!

So... macro experts (ahem, Jan, Charlotte, Mah) or otherwise, suggestions for improvement?

Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

Before entering the Enkouji-Temple, one has to pass through this beautiful Zen garden 枯山水庭院, which is named Honryutei 奔龍庭 (literally meaning: Court of The Flying Dragon). Here the white sands represent the clouds like running water and the stones represent the parts (body and head) of the dragon flying freely in the sky.
