Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

A scream in the night snapped me awake to the sound of struggle. Then finally, the rustle of something falling. Another leaf bloodied by time's slaughter. Sigh.
Porepunkah is a town in north east Victoria. Built along the Great Alpine Road, at the foot of Mount Buffalo, it is 320 kilometres from Melbourne. It is part of the local epicurean region and features several wineries. This includes the Feathertop Winery which features a gourmet restaurant and views of wonderful grapevines which turn red and gold during the autumnal months.
It is outside the Feathertop Winery that this pretty row of deciduous exotic trees stands. They were too beautiful basking in the afternoon sun not to stop and photograph.
Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour and ornamental vines like this one, but you have to be quick to catch the latter for the red tones of the season come on very quickly, and just as quickly the leaves are gone.
Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours are starting to appear.
Common green shield bug (Palomena prasina) 10mm -12mm long.
Out for it's afternoon stroll through the enchanted forest searching for today's lunch probably, some tasty red leafy treats possibly on today's menu I suspect?
These little bugs are virtually invisible on green leaves, but stand out on the red leaves, well they should seeing, Red & Green are complementary colours to each other.
It's amazing all the tiny little critters that inhabit our woodlands & gardens, just stop for a moment, wait still and soon you will be amazed at what you should see!
"Natures charms"
To be caressed in natures arms,
delight in her lovely charms,
birds, their merry song,
drifting butterflies dance along,
busy bees dart and dive,
"Oh' how lucky to be alive."
Original poetry by Sean.
Love & Peace everyone! 😻
A walk with Scooter, my orange male cat, took me past a wonderful array of nearly crimson Virginia Creeper leaves. I know I shoot them often, but when it comes to Autumn color, they're all I've got. However, this time I wanted the single leaf clinging to life on the tip of the twig-like center. It looked great in the viewfinder, so I took the shot, one. This is it. Not what I wanted, but what I got.

Okay I'm not sure how that applies here, but it must.

Following a period of drought and a hosepipe ban, it was a relief to see it had rained overnight.
I loved how these drops of rain were sitting on the foliage.
A Study in Red - I collected the large leaf in Cambridge a while back and the red leaf is from our blueberry. It has some nice rich red leaves at the moment. I actually read the challenge wrong so I will go and try again!
Hi there,
The Virginia Creeper leaf had conveniently fallen right next to a bit of hydrangea that had previously been white. Always nice to find bits of colour where you least expect it!
Thank you for looking and for leaving a comment! Have a wonderful day!

You Make it Real
Mmmm
There's so much craziness surrounding me
There's so much going on it gets hard to breathe
And all my faith has gone you bring it back to me
You make it real for me
Well I'm not sure of my priorities
I've lost site of where I'm meant to be
like holy water washing over me
You make it real for me
