Fall colors at their finest.

With the morning light hitting my Royal Purple Smoke bush from behind, it really made the colors and details pop.

This maple tree was located at Chionin Temple in the northern part of Kyoto, Japan.

Autumn in Melbourne is always beautiful, with many wonderful deciduous trees full of colour and ornamental vines like this one, but you have to be quick to catch the latter for the red tones of the season come on very quickly, and just as quickly the leaves are gone.

Melbourne has experienced a wonderful Indian summer this year, and as a result, not only are there still plenty of beautiful blooms about, but the Autumnal colours are starting to appear.

I found it so curious that just that one particular leaf was red!

Happy Bench Monday!

The beauty of a single branch with fall's left over red leaves is often overlooked in preference of a tree full of leaves. In this case I liked the effect of the simplicity of just a few red leaves on a single branch.

Wandiligong is a town in north-eastern Victoria in the alpine region around 330 kilometres from Melbourne. Established in the 1850s as part of the Victorian Gold Rush, Wandiligong became a hub for many gold miners, including a large Chinese community. At its peak, the town was home to over two thousand inhabitants and boasted shops, churches, a public library, halls and even an hotel. Much has changed since those heady days of the gold rush, and the picturesque town nestled in a valley and built around the Morses Creek, is now a sleepy little town full of picturesque houses which are often let to visitors to the area. The whole town is registered with the National Trust of Australia for its historic landscape and buildings of historic value.

Sycamore

Venturing out following three days of heavy rain and winds, I decided to take a walk up the green lane, more or less opposite our front door to take a photo of the foxgloves which I’d spotted from the window. Turned out the foxgloves were not as accessible as they appeared, the three foot tall grass and ferns were soaking wet, as was I, and you couldn’t see the actual path for greenery. Anyway I managed a shot of these young sycamore leaves before retreating to drier ground. The foxgloves will wait until the grass is drier.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

Camille inserted herself into the photograph when I was trying to take a photo of the red leaf.

CONVERSAS NO BOSQUE

nesta terra sempre sombria

que nos mostra claramente

como tudo começa e acaba.

Broke out the 105mm macro and went outside in our courtyard to use natural light.

Nestled amidst the velvety folds of a red poinsettia leaf, two glistening droplets capture miniature worlds within their watery spheres. The larger orb boldly reflects its surroundings, entrapping the essence of its vibrant host leaf and glimpses of the world beyond. Light dances across their surfaces, highlighting the delicate equilibrium between nature and the transient magic of morning dew. This close-up invites viewers into a microcosmic fairy tale painted in vivid shades of crimson and clear blue.

A small temple located in northwest Kyoto, Genkō-an 源光庵 is a Soto Zen temple in Kyoto that is famous for its rather strikingly original windows.

On the right is a rectangular window that is known as the “Window of Confusion” 「迷惘之窗」, with each of the four corners representing the suffering mortals are destined to go through in their life: birth, old age, disease, and death. Beside it is the circular “Window of Enlightenment” 「頓悟之窗」 , whose lack of corners represents the Zen concept of the universe and an enlightened life beyond the pain of mortality. Though these two windows and the view through them are most famous in autumn, they are striking at any time of year and invite visitors to sit awhile and enjoy some quiet contemplation.

Continued from my 'Ugly Fence' Theme a few images along on my photostream.

On Thursday as I wrote before, I had taken a rather unsavoury route home on my bike via the back of a train line, everywhere had ugly metal fences, I guess to stop people getting on to the train line, its not a great place to take a short cut home, especially as a woman, but I did, and I noticed that even in the unlikeliest of places there can be 'Hidden Beauty'. The late afternoon October light had caught the fence and the trailing red leaves caught my eye. For just a little while this ugly wiry fence will be a little bit beautiful. Happy Fence Friday even though its Saturday, I didn't have time to share all my images yesterday ~ KissThePixel2018

DEDICATED TO ALL OF MY FLICKR FRIENDS!

Thanks for every View, Fave & especially Comments guys : )

Hi everyone!

This photo was not originally my next choice to upload, but as Valentine's Day

(Hearts Day) is upon us and this is a 'heart shaped' red leaf, I thought it was very fitting : )

This photo is SOOC (straight out of camera) except for being cropped.

The full photo is actually very pretty (IMO) but I wanted the focus to be mostly on the heart shaped leaf : )

(( I did leave some green leaves in the photo for contrast ))

This image was such a lucky catch for me, as I was using my older Sony HX60V and could not see the LCD screen in the bright sunlight while shooting this leaf.

I had to take a photo, hide my camera in the shade from the sun... study the small screen, readjust & shoot again... then repeat!

(( I now have a Sony HX90V with an articulating screen & a viewfinder... it makes a world of difference! ))

I found this batch of bright red leaves in the Autumn last year (November) and returned to it the next day, when the sun was very bright, to capture this particular scene : )

I always liked it but never thought it would be an image I would upload here, so I'm very interested in how the response will be to it.

Happy Valentine's Day to those celebrating it!

If you celebrate this day under a different title (or language), please feel free to list the name of it in your own language in the comments section!

I think we'd all love to hear about it : )

Have a great day guys and thanks for having a look!

I truly appreciate your time : )

CRUSH

Once upon a time, a tiny boy walking in the forest "Redleaf". The spindly trees had red trunk and green leaves. But what made them special were the red leaves at their tops. The boy was dreaming that one day he will be able to sit on one of these gorgeous red leaves and enjoy the view from up there.

Thus, he began to climb and jump from leaf to leaf. As he was climbing higher, the light became stronger, almost blinding. The journey became difficult. Suddenly he heard a strange sound behind him ...

..........If you like, imagine and tell me the rest of the story!..........

Give the end you like in your stories and then start a new one...
