Found this redevelopment sign in a back alleyway -- apparently they want to replace the HNR building near Dundas Square... and only this deeply-hidden sign is telling people about it.

Another stinker - seen here from the top of Ivegate, this is the appalling concrete monster that is the Kirkgate Centre, formerly the Arndale Centre, completed in 1972. It was built at the expense of the Kirkgate Market, a far superior building, much to the disappointment of Bradfordians at the time.

Townhouses designed by Harry Weese, built between 1959 and 1962.

Building works

'Fibres', a sculpture by Ian Randall situated between the station and the Midland Hotel, is overlooked by a new development inside the old Broadgate House warehouse.

Photo taken 3rd Feb 1974. This building has had a chequered career since the 1960s. It has been a Penguin book shop, then a china shop and is now a sports wear emporium.
