March 2017 block for CHERISH.do.Good stitches
My sewing group think this would be the perfect block for a football fan - reminded them of footy scarves in team colours.
Made using the following tutorial ttfabrics.com/shutter-quilt-tutorial/
Stones I found after parking in Jerome, Arizona. Probably would have shot this different as the shadows were a little harsh.

On the first afternoon of our trip, we visited the Superior Entry Lighthouse located at the end of the breakwater for “Superior Entry”, the other entrance into the Duluth Superior Harbor.
The lighthouse is very isolated. You have to walk along a rubble stone breakwater for a long distance to get to the structure. In reading the history of the lighthouse, it appears that the keepers often took a boat to it because walking the breakwater was such a hassle.
Despite the difficulty getting there, it is a very unique lighthouse. The structure is a combination of keeper’s quarters, fog signal building, and light tower. The keepers quarters and fog signal equipment was housed in the two story rounded-rectangle portion of the structure.
The original fresnel lens is long gone. It was originally replaced with a aerobeacon, but it appears that at some point in the recent past that was replaced with a Vega VRB-25 plastic optic. It also appears to now be at least partially powered with solar panels that you can see attached to the structure.
From a distance the lighthouse looks beautiful, but up close you can see it has been a victim of multiple vandals. Most of the windows on the lighthouse are broken or missing and have been boarded up. There is also graffiti on portions of the structure.
Despite that, it is worth the walk to see it.
As sedge has suggested. I do like it, but I lose 2 rectangles! Now its a rectangle bonanza instead :)
Auch wenn ich nicht alle Blöcke mitgenäht habe, zumindest ein kleines "Gruppenbild" vom Rectangles Kapitel.

The variety of different sizes and shapes of these bricks is interesting .... I have a feeling that this wall has been here for quite a while.
All my jewelry is handmade, and one of a kind. It's a lot of fun and I am constantly experimenting with new things!
I'm getting a wool quilt bat from my friend with the sheep so I'm trying to gather inspiration to make this quilt top over the summer.
