Beauty, beauty - everywhere.

There is beauty in the mountains, beauty on the beach, and beauty at California & Taylor in Chicago.

We live in a beautiful world indeed..

Rectangles, rectangles everywhere -- Urban spaces are a wonderland of geometry.

The side of a building at Coolangatta Airport adorned with colored rectangular panels.

This lovely origami model is called "Rain Star" or in Spanish "Estrella de la Lluvia", because when it was created by Aldo Marcell it was raining ;-)

I wanted to see what the difference is when I changed the color, so that's why you see 2 variations, I like them both....which one has your preference?

I put them on a mirror so you can see at the same time the other site.

Model: Origami Rain Star / Origami Estrella de la Lluvia

Designer: Aldo Marcell

Paper: 30 pieces of rectangle kamipaper 1:3 (2,5x7,5cm)

Final height: 8cm

There is a video tutorial by Evan Zodl, if you want to fold it too ;-)

Hi there,

Macro Mondays is a weekly theme-based challenge group. Our challenge this week was "Geometry Shapes."

This is a 1-3/4" square of my paperwork organizer. I inserted black paper for contrast. Much more fun to shoot this than to deal with the paperwork! )0: HMM!

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and for leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you!

Have a wonderful day and week!

Streets of Philadelphia.

the left margin is set suboptimally. Sorry, a compromise in favour of the bottom margin!

Okay, perhaps not great rectangles, but close. This is taken along Cleaver Rd. There is fence all the way along this country road.

The Rüstem Pasha Mosque is an Ottoman mosque located in Hasircilar Carsisi (Strawmat Weavers Market) in Eminönü, Istanbul.

It was designed by Mimar Sinan ("Sinan the Architect") for Grand Vizier Rüstem Pasha (who married one of the daughters of Suleiman the Magnificent, Princess Mihrimah). Its building took place from 1561 to 1563. The mosque is famous for its exquisite Kutahya tiles, set in beautiful floral and geometric designs, which cover not only the facade of the porch but also the mihrab, minbar, walls, and columns.

The plan of the mosque consists of an octagon inscribed in a rectangle. The dome rests on four semi-domes; not on the axes but in the diagonals of the building.

The arches of the dome spring from four octagonal pillars— two on the north, two on the south— and from piers projecting from the east and west walls. To the north and south are galleries supported by pillars and by small marble columns between them.

Grandview Square (I live in the upper left building) - looks like a rectangle to me!

An old house in Ballycastle that clearly has had an interesting history.
