I take a lot of photos. More than I can post in my photostream. So I thought I'd try something a bit different. Rather than a themed video (which it sort of like a digital photo book) I thought I'd try something more like photo journal; Just the photos I've captured recently that I thought were interesting. Backed with music that I've been listening to lately. Sort of a video zine?
Anyhow, I was up in the Pacific Northwest and on my way back to Los Angeles, I made a stop in Portland to attend a friend's wedding. So the front side are photos from hitching a ride from Washington to Portland, walking the Portland suburban mall-scape, a select few shots from the reception, then back down in LA, where with the time change, my walking commute was suddenly in the dark.
Hope you find some of the photos interesting. And the music. This group resonates with me. Enjoy.

Pothole season is definitely happening this year, which means mostly common modern wheel covers. The 2020 Corolla (above/right of the metal Crown Vic) is my first intact one of those. It looks mint except for a strange crack near the center. I think it may have been hit while rolling, and bounced into the bushes.
The two black "VR" unis in back are Polish ones, fairly uncommon here. They were together at a pothole and both look to be in excellent shape. The metal Buick has a nice face, but the steel band is pretty rusty. The Crown Vic has no badge, but an excellent steel band with no rust and good clips
This is a few months' worth. Even though we are in an age when "everyone" downloads his or her music - or so the popular media often like to tell us - I still prefer to have the physical object. I'm sure this stems from an album-buying habit that started in 1973. Not that I'm saying online music is bad, on the contrary I think it is a fantastically versatile and cost-effective way for people to enjoy music, and for artists to reach an audience, but it is not the only way. I particularly like one of the buttons on the CD player, not because of what it does, but because of how it is labelled. Given my choice of music shown here, can you guess which button?
I love all the geometric designs on these! Hazel Atlas candy stripe mug and bowl, Federal Glass stars bowl, Anchor Hocking star pitcher. The three glasses are all unmarked.
Edit: I've just learned that the polka dot glass is Anchor Hocking. :)

From today's infant session. I loved how the gold of the fabric and the brown of the basket really worked together. Excellent expression on the kid as well. We had a great time at this session!
2 new EAH girls for my smallish EAH collection, which I'm currently working on and I'm so excited for Sweet Screams Abbey! She was on sale for $5 last week, what a deal! :D
Following the recent redeployment of 08927 to Bescot, the Axiom Wagon Works in Stoke-on-Trent has a new pilot in the form of former DB 08922. Owned by the GCRN, the locomotive is sub-leased via RSS who hold the Axiom contract. The loco is probably most remembered for its stints at Carlisle, being a long time resident. The locomotive being a part of Allerton's WSNW pool in the early 2000's, also spent some time at Dee Marsh and Shotton as well as visiting Allerton for heavy maintenance. Throughout the 90's and early 2000's the loco carried BR Departmental Grey. The shunter was repainted in to its current non-standard Grey livery in 2008 whilst receiving an overhaul at Doncaster Carr. In the latter years of EWS/DB Gronks, 08922 was considered to be one of the strongest they had used at Carlisle, no real surprise as no real investment was made in the fleet towards the end. At Kingmoor yard, the loco was affectionately known as 'The Grey Ghost'. Withdrawal came in 2011, having moved to Toton for an overhaul that was in the end not sanctioned, the loco remained in use as depot pilot at several points during it’s time at the East Midlands depot.
Some of the minifigures which I bought/ assembled recently. Overwatch Hana Song was an impulse buy, haha... I was actually reading the rating of this Shopee seller and it was under the 4 stars rating. I saw the product and clicked on it, ahhh she is so cute! Bought her the following weekend. Love her bubblegum blowing face!
Mr Tang is from my usual local BL seller. He was selling out fast so I bought him. Liked his torso with noodles there... I removed his red scarf because it was blocking the torso print...
The Renault is not shown because it went straight on the parts pile, but it is from this group of finds.
To the right of the '69 Chrysler is an uncommon Isuzu Hombre, which was a rebranded Chevy S-10 pickup in the late '90s. That cap has metal clips that rust away. This one has at least a few solid clips, but some of the plastic clip holders are broken, so I may end up scrapping it and moving the clips to a better one.
Below the '69 is a newer Chrysler from around 1990. I always liked that style, and it looks like it will clean up pretty nice. That type has a stainless clip band that doesn't rot away like some other caps from that era.
The flat trim ring is a 13" for a 1980s Escort or Tempo/Topaz styled wheel. The ribbed center cap on the far right is a heavy cast metal one for aluminum wheels on a 1970s Lincoln. It has some corrosion but it might clean up ok, and I've never had one before.
The 6-point Toyota Tundra center cap has all good clips and ring. That's a style that's usually broken, so I was happy to see that. But the most valuable items for resale here are the two 10-lug Ram rear caps. I found those on the same road a short distance apart, and both have perfect clips, which never happens on those. I think someone was working on the truck and didn't put them on right, because they both have greasy fingerprints on them
Bought these older torsos from a UK BL seller... glad it arrived safely... although not to happy with the condition of the torsos... It was a bit worn out, more than what I expected. I guess sometimes it's a hit or miss...

Here are my first finds of the season. Since pothole season hasn't really started yet, I've mostly been searching highway bridge embankments, so there are a lot of center caps. A rundown of some of the finds:
Second from the back, center position, is an old Ford Mustang and Fairmont from the early '80s. The steel clip band is totally rotted away, but the plastic appears all intact. I think I have at least one nasty one with a good steel band that I can combine with this one if it cleans up nice.
The wire Buick on the left is another one that's partially rotted away. That type doesn't have normal clips; it's held on entirely by the lock nut in the center. The inner steel backing where the lock goes is rotted away, but the rest of the cap is stainless and very nice, so I'll try to fix it. I tried to get a location pic of that one, but it didn't come out. It was very hidden and probably fell off when it was nearly new.
To the right of that are two Alcoa-branded center caps for semi trucks. I find a lot of semi-truck stuff, and I leave 98% of it, such as those chrome "baby moon" center caps, because they're basically worthless. But these are the genuine Alcoa caps that are pretty expensive to buy new, so I thought they might sell. Both are in good condition with a few scrapes from falling off.
The chrome wheel cover with 5 lugs is not a uni...it's a very rare 1999 Chrysler Cirrus LXi. I've only ever found one other. It was when those cars were new, and I still remember exactly where I found it. I saw this one from the car while driving on the highway, partially hidden by leaves on an upward embankment. I drove by it a couple times to make sure it wasn't a uni, because it was a tight spot to stop, but I was convinced it was one of these, and indeed it was. It's all complete and looks like it will clean up very nice.
To the left of the black Phoenix trailer center cap is probably the hottest find of this bunch for resale. It's a Ram 3500 dually rear cap with the rare Laramie Longhorn badge, and all good clips! I've never found one with that rare badge before, and I've also never found this style with all clips intact. Those sell for big bucks at the Chrysler dealer, and good used ones are hard to find.
The 5-slot Nissan Altima and the metal trim ring (a 14" Toyota Celica or pickup) were both almost completely buried. I was reluctant to dig out the Altima because I was sure it would be scrapped, but it turned out to be complete except for the ring, and a couple bent clips. I've mentioned before here that I used to find and sell tons of those back in the day, but that's the first usable one I've found in years.
