Heizkraftwerk Wilmersdorf
There had been a power station at this site since 1911. The still existing power plant was commissioned in 1977 and in recent years has only been used for peak loads from time to time. In April 2021, the power plant was finally shut down and will be demolished by the end of 2022.
The recent stormy weather here on Exmoor was so tempting that I didn't even cycle this time. A mad dash - it looked changeable but worth chancing it for. Heavy rain and mist soon followed after this shot - but not so bad when you can shelter between them in the truck :) (f/13, 40 mm, 1/20th sec at ISO 100).
During a recent visit to Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge I spotted this Great Blue Heron trying to eat a snake. The snake put up a good fight but after several minutes and some time wrapped around the heron’s beak it finally submitted. What a show! I would have liked to get a little closer but was afraid I would make the heron lose its meal.

Brackley is a delightful small market town in the south of Northamptonshire. Its market was originally based on wool and lace. Brackley is situated on strategic routes between London, Birmingham and the Midlands, and between Cambridge and Oxford. The charming former town hall in Brackley (pictured centre) dates from the Queen Anne period, having been built by the 4th Earl of Bridgwater in 1706. The weekly market is held in front of the building. In recent years the old town hall has undergone a major refurbishment, and I am pleased to say that an ugly metal fire escape has been removed from the outside of the building, with suitable improvements made inside.
To spend the morning in the rainy woods and the afternoon editing photos in a cozy study... a perfect fall day.
Thank you all my dears Flickr friends for your sweet comments! I do appreciate them very, very much

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
And no Hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no country
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Maybe someday you will join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no posessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
Or Brotherhood of Man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
And maybe someday you will join us
And the world will be as one
You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
Maybe someday you will join us
And the world will be as one...

Palazzo Butera - Palermo
The first news is from 1692. Belonging to the Branciforte family (one of the most prestigious and rich noble families of the time).
Left partially neglected in recent decades, it was purchased in 2015 by Francesca and Massimo Valsecchi, who completely renovated it, making it a precious art gallery and returning it to its splendor. It stands on the "sea" view of the city of Palermo.
A friend was promoted last year and received a "new" office, filled with stuff left behind by a now retired professor. This Hermes 3000 typewriter was left in that office and needed a new home, so after a stopover for a cleaning and mechanical overhaul, it now lives with me. It was made in 1964, in Switzerland.
Another photo from my little Santorini series taken in 2014. I never liked that ugly dark spot in the middle, but I notice recent versions of this view don’t have that anymore, it has finally been filled up with pretty white houses.
I used to do more polyptychs. I missed that!
4 shots from a recent jaunt over in Shimokita, all pretty close to one another.
Recent shots from Glencoe. Enjoy folks. Happy weekend :)
Uploaded this again as removed a couple of dust spots.
Taken with a Takumar 58/2. I've played and played and played with the processing on this one. All sorts of different filters and film looks - to try and cope with the complexity of the bokeh. Here's my most recent attempt. It's time to post and hope you like it!
