The really real lighthouse

The Captain looks for the lighthouse because the lighthouse really means the rocks. The lighthouse never sees the ships, never hears the cries. It isn't the rocks. But sometimes during the day the lighthouse gets to see them see it. The they are all together.

But at night it's all business.

The coast is rocky because land is serious. Everything at sea is so temporary and sailors have all the poetry they need in a mantle of stars. Really it comes down to a convention of symmetry. The symmetry of understanding.

Sometimes the lighthouse just closes it's eyes. Never it's light though. Standards. But the eyes close and it says "You're going to crash." Just quietly.

If at sea you feel the need to say "WHEN!" it is always going to be now. The eternal present of the surface of the ocean is the dividing line between true love and those that belong in the deep.

The truth is the ocean never gets tired of eating.

I love it! What could be better than a great hat on a cold winter's day?

I really struggled to capture the interior of Cologne's majestic Cathedral, it is truly too vast an creation to do justice to.

It doesn't help that on each occaision I entered (apart from our previous morning tour of the triforium and clerestorey) the light was rather low in an already fairly dark building (and I couldn't be bothered travelling with a tripod, thus had left it behind!)

The scale of the place does overwhelm you somewhat, making it hard to get good descriptive shots o the space that really apture what it is like to be enfolded by it.

This really comes alive on black :)

I hope you are able to understand the story behind this without me explaining it. To me, it is very personal, and it represents a lot of people I have met and seen throughout my life.

Sorry this is a little out of order, I wanted to post all my beach pictures in a row, but I didn't finish editing them, so I will finish posting them throughout the next few days!

We visited the Grand Canyon while on a trip to Las Vegas.

You really have to see it in person, photos don't do it justice.

The far side is 10 to 15 miles away and you are just seeing a small portion of the canyon.

Finally time to replace my pedals.

This fox is seriously relaxed with people near her

This senior class seemed to lack imagination (and artistic ability). The best they could do was painting their year on the roof of our oldest "temporary" classroom. Compared to taggers and graffiti artists I see in big cities this is really pitiful, looks like a second-grader did the writing!

I know they think they have left their mark forever, but this building, along with some similar neighbors, are going to the scrap pile next week and we will get some new "modular" buildings before the next school year.

This really is one of the most nonsensically low-tech weapons in the franchise.

Maybe they MEAN " This goes on the sidewalk side of the street ???"

no idea why someone would put vinyl tile in a bedroom, but at least it's a cosmetic issue. but it's beige, so it matches eveything else.

We really looked forward to the last weekend of TRF - it spans three days and is heavily attended. However, the gods were not smiling on us. My wife had a bad case of bronchitis and congestion and I had a significant poison ivy rash going on. It was so bad we skipped the Sunday show and I'm still bummed out over that.

Other than that it was a great day - good weather, a lot of awesome people to shoot with, and it ended with a memorial service for a good friend of ours.

I took these photos at the Texas Renaissance Festival at the end of November 2016. The TRF is located at Todd Mission, TX, about 50 miles NW of Houston.

I'm NOT your Mamma!!"

The look on Floydd's face tells the whole story here......lol.

Ozzie is still trying to find his way back to the teat, and never stops making attempts to try and nurse on any warm, furry body he can find........all the adult cats, the dog, and even my big old, ugly brown polar fleece bathrobe they are laying on in this shot.

When I introduced Wagner to his son (who looks just like him) I think that's what he would've said...if he could talk. :)

Really, I am an angel!! Trust me!!

Is this considered a new tool? well it is new to me and is old like most of my machines. Scott brand receiver with dual phono stage (i might need to bring in a turntable from home) and a really nice analog tuner. my old Harmon/Karmon finally died and my connection at the audio store gave me this as a replacement.

My favorite of the lot.. Love the blood candy red color.. :D

Pictures taken at Bukit Bintang. The whole lot of them were parked at the side of the road. Some sort of exhibition I think. I wasn't really too bothered. I kept looking around for bikes! ;p

No really.

We did the "sick-with-something-up-all-night-coughing" dance at our house last night.....

But Little Bit (who IS the life of any party, and the only one of the 5 of us who slept through it all) was up for some dress-up fun this morning....he's gonna hate this when he's a teenager!

Lovin' the flickr bow?

I am...

It's pretty On Black.

A few months back Jared asked "Is Milo really popular in Malaysia? I was just at a Malaysian eatery in the city that has a wall of Milo." This is a display spanning the width of a mall walkway :)

Riley thinks he should also be in this shot

Saying that photography wise I have been pretty luck in the last few months but Im not gonna bore you guys with some gloating.

So now I will leave you with a picture of David Gray.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house that night(well apart from me,I was the odd one out in a sea of couple)

Awkward it was..

Flickr, meet the lovely Ema Sexton : )

We met a few months ago and had chatted about us doing a shoot, but it didnt happen until two weeks ago and Im so glad it finally did! I had been wanting to do a sort of picnic theme with a few props I had (like the awesome polka dot parasol from the twenties!) and I really love how some of these turned out. We had a lot of fun and she was a complete natural in front of the camera. Even when the creepy homeless man in the park tried to watch her change : (

Theres more of these coming soon!

It really is photo shoots like these that make me realize im doing exactly what I love.

Really! He was my inspiration for all the SPs!

I'd stopped at this farm to ask permission to walk about the property and get some barn/silo shots. The fence clued me into the possibility there were dogs in the residence. Was I ever glad to have waited outside the gate for the owner!
