This was taken on an occasionally perilous drive along the Newlands Valley in the Lake District. This is one of the less photographed areas in that part of the world for some reason but has some really spectacular viewpoints. Having given the matter some considerable thought, perhaps “perilous drive” might just explain the “less photographed” bit .....

Have a good start into the new week everybody!

Really liked the light here and the compression zooming in at 105mm.

Looking really cosy and inviting - living at the shore of Lake Orestiada near Kastoria in Western Macedonia. With wooden walkways and houses on stilts built into the lake. This is Dispilio (literally, "two caves"), a neolithic lakeshore settlement occupied between the 6th and the 3rd millennium BC. Our neolithic ancestors made ceramics, played the flute, hunted, went fishing and also did some agriculture. Even more, they left a 7000 year old wooden tablet behind that has markings, symbols, that do look suspiciously like an early form of writing. The assemblage you see is, as you would expect, a recent reconstruction. Leica M8, Voigtlaender 35/1.4.

Really liked this view of the battlefield with those scattered storm clouds passing by to the east.

I really need a shot of this place at sunset to have that beautiful light over the salar texture. This time wasn´t the opportunity but, Uyuni is not so far from where i live so one day i´ll go there with my truck and burn my shutter.

I really had a problem trying to erase the lens vigneting. Specially for the great amount of white in this photo. Please, if someone knows how to do it, let me know. =)

A French built locomotive and golden fields, it could as well be somewhere in France. The people and animals prove that we are somewhere really different though.

We see locomotive E-1312 heading a train towards Casablanca.

Really struggled to think of something original and different for this theme on Crazy Tuesday. I tried a few different ideas but none of them seemed to work, especially not to my satisfaction.

Gave up for a while and decided, mid-afternoon to boil an egg as a snack as feeling a bit peckish and whilst the water was boiling away, the thought struck me that maybe there might be a suitable ‘motion blur’ shot in the pan, not just the egg!

I took some shots and, lo and behold I arrived at some images that might prove suitable, I thought. I chose this one and after a little cropping decided that it was different and in my mind, quite original. The water surface appears smoothed out, adopting an oily look and getting rid of the individual bubbles, small and big. In my mind it looks a bit like transparent lava in the mouth of a volcanic crater! I know, I have a weird brain!

See what you think!

Is it really over

Is it really done this time

Cause we’ve been getting closer

I think I need to draw a line cause

I don’t want an almost

I don’t wanna make it up

I don’t wanna fake this up

I need spaaace

Before it gets toxic

Spaaace, losing my logic

Spaaace, spaaace..

This little guy was one of an unusually tolerant flock of eight little beauties I often see in Oban Bay.

We had listened for some time to the gentle sound of their named behaviour as they sifted for food along the shore line.

The look this one gave me almost looks indignant as if to say "what on earth are you doing ?"

I really liked the colors in this, but botched the ISO. I tried to salvage it and hide the grain by adding textures.

Thanks for the textures Clive

It´s really pleasing to lie on the grass and contemplate the newborn Daisies in a luminous Spring day in the park.

These tiny wild Daisies seemed to be really happy enjoying a warm sunbath.

I hope you enjoy a good Tuesday, dear friends! Wishing you all the best!

In 2005 I participated in a contest hosted by FBTB to design and build an Imperial Voidfighter. My entry at the time was mediocre. Here is a reimagined version of the Voidfighter more than 17 years later, featuring a pilot minifig with an extremely rare dark bluish gray snowtrooper helmet from around 2010 (only 2 known in existence).

You can see the original contest entries on Flickr.

I really love this shot. I was going to hold off on posting it, because I've had a few edits that I wasn't going to make public yet, but when I did this one, I decided to post them all! This is my favorite and I couldn't wait!

For some reason, I haven't hit Explore for about 2 1/2 years, and I really wish this one could make the difference. Whether it ever does or not, I still like it and hope you do, too!

I continue to feel more normal each day, and though I'm still a trifle congested, it's not much more than on a regular allergy kind of day! Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers during this time. I very much appreciate it!

Willink Entrance Comfort Station at Prospect Park.Believe it or not,the structure is one of the restrooms facilities at the park. The limestone and yellow brick building was built in 1912.It kind of resembles a Spanish villa house. The restrooms are underneath the Tuscan columns off to the left and right. The park's maintenance office is on the right side.

Really stuck for an original idea but eventually came up with this!
