Alpha A200 / Helios 44

Really cold outside, so became an indoor photographer today. A part of the flex on my electric razor.

It would seem that old saying is true.

I got a new studio backdrop today, and it's so realistic Eric grabbed his toilet roll and headed off in search of a nice secluded spot.

He informed us he was "off to do some paper work" lol

Really? That way? For real?

Really hard to get a clean shot but I was pleased with what I managed to get

Really awesome iPhone background

Nikon 35mm f1.8 can focus real close so i took a snap of the gentleman sitting right next to me in,

Sending Lucy back for her cardiac catheterization.

I'm really clutching at straws for good intentions here....

I've never really been one for doing much processing on photos. A couple of selective colour attempts, some black & white conversions, a bit of contrast and saturation adjustment.

But since acquiring some plug-ins for Aperture (Apple's (cheaper) equivalent of Lightroom), I've been doing a bit more. And I would like to try and get a bit more creative in that respect - I would like to make the photographs slightly more aesthetically pleasing...

But choosing when to do what is something that needs to be thought about...not necessarily something I do :-)

Anyway - the pictures are a before and after - one's the original, the other isn't. Can you tell which is which? If not, or if you choose the wrong way round, then that says volumes about my aesthetic judgement :-)

Really. Diggin on the 70's Paper Mache style. Though at this point its probably fiberglass.

Taken at night with my D80 and the 35mm f/1.8. Flowers are at the Veteran's Memorial in Solon, Ohio. The flowerbeds have some LED spotlights, which light the flowers from below. No fancy techniques here, just fill the frame and shoot. Pump up the color a tiny bit and recover a bit of the shadows. Big aperture really makes things look dreamy.

I think that Vinny felt a little put out that I was snapping pictures while he suffered the indignity of having a thermometer shoved up his butt!

Today I had to take the entire family back to the vets.

The kittens needed their 2nd round of shots, and Sally needed to get her rabies vaccine, now that she isn't nursing anymore.

She is scheduled for spaying next Friday.

YAY!

I know this really really white man but his secret is safe with me.

This volcanically heated hot pool is where one starts their healing mud bath experience. I only got in to my knees and could take no more.

Really really a lucky shot. I didn't realized that it flew away the bar at the time I pressed the shutter button...Can not believe it!!!!!

实在是一张幸运的照片,我没想到我摁快门的一瞬间它起飞了……

Really Red

Picture taken by my son Tay. I don't even know what it is.

I just rediscovered this long-lost Matchbox English double decker bus so a photo on a pile of British coins seemed like the only way to get a proper photo of it. I bought the bus in London so I was glad to find it again. And for what it's worth, it has "Made in China" on the bottom. Oh well, it's travelled a lot.

In a portico leading up to St Peter's Square. Somehow the opening in front and its view of St Peter's looks as though it could be a trompe l'oeil.

Just another try for direct outpout from camera JPEG, because really no time to edit. Must say sorry to cshlcc here.

i really need to get out of the house, and find something else to shoot....because next i'm going to have to post the bottom half of this candle.

although.... i had my first "real" photography job today. taking shots of some friends who are realtors, and need photos for their marketing pieces. i think it went well. i was a nervous wreck. and i've thought of a million things i should have differently after i got home. i guess you have to start somewhere though, right?

I really like that twilight period right after the Sun goes down.

God’s Light is checking out for the day and has been known to go out like a Pink Floyd light show with backup by Jimi Hendrix.

Man’s Light is showing up to start their graveyard shift, some lights showing up to work earlier than others.

I don't think anyone really looks at my stream anymore, but I quit 52 weeks :-( I was tired of doing half-assed shots Saturday night, and I didn't think Dave was into it, and I'd LIKE to think that our life is just so good and full and busy I don't have time for all these great shots so I will leave it at that :-) I will still try to take some of us, though!

We decided to go on a hike today! We haven't been yet this year (I don't REALLY count the short one in the Gorge on the way to PDX airport), and it was about time.

Also, I got this a couple months ago, and only practiced with it ONCE before today, and I am going backcountry camping in like 2 weeks! I need to get my butt in gear! :-)

Our hike was fun, but not as fun as it could be. I own hiking boots, hiking sneakers, and hiking sandals. I prefer the sandals pretty much always. Hate my feet getting hot, hate my feet getting wet/sweaty (yes I have good socks), etc. So I pretty much always wear the sandals. Well that sign was an understatement, by the time we got close to the 1st lake (and our goal was the 2nd) I was KNEE DEEP in snow, and at least before the snow alternated with the dirt, but my toes were turning purple :-( Also, it started raining on our way back and about 5 minutes after we got into the car it was a DOWNPOUR, like serious rain, and heavy thunder and these big, huge, bright, beautiful lighting bolts.
