I really don't like spiders very much, but I do appreciate what remarkable creatures they are, and what a splendid job they do of decorating the garden on a misty morning!!
Really didn’t get the results I was hoping for that evening - I was hoping to see sunset piercing the waves, but it didn’t. And the air was so full of water vapor from big waves breaking up that most shots just looked hazy and muddled. Ah well.

It´s like I crossed this side and just stayed there..the weather just won´t change!! But I´m gonna find my way into the sun again! I will find it.. ohh yes.. I will find it!!! Muhahahahaha
No, really, it was a nice Spring day. At least, the day before it was Spring, nice and warm and sunny. Of all things, it snowed over night. I bet the prairie dogs were just a bit surprised. Anyway, I made some mistakes on this trip a few years back. I had a new Sony mirrorless, adapted to my old Canon gear so it was a learning curve I wish I had left for the local park. I've been pining to rectify ever since. Not that I expect to get snowed on, or to find bison babies. Looking forward to spending some time in these Black Hills of South Dakota again.
With that adapter, the EXIF data really comes out whacked. I'm betting I had a 1.4 tele on that lens maybe. The big mistake here was shooting the cropped sensor size on the full frame camera, tossing away half the pixels. I bought 24 mp, I shoulda used 'em. Shucks, I coulda just used a longer lens. Duh ...
To really love a woman
To understand her
You gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought
See every dream
And give her wings
When she wants to fly
Then when you find
Yourself layin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
That she's really wanted
When you love a woman
You tell her that she's the one
'Cause she needs somebody to tell her
That it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
Really, really ever loved a woman?
To really love a woman
Let her hold you
'Til ya know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her, really taste her
'Til you can feel her in your blood
And when you can see your
Unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman
Really nice light on this airshow. The Blue Angels were scheduled but did an 8 week stand down for safety. From now on they will only do 7 weekends in a row.
Well I have principles or the environment I live in that tells me that this movement is forbidden in all its forms and ways but I really like the picture, I find it a work of art that should not be deleted
My thanks to Ben Scott whose pic in Unsplash won me over and made my day. Also my personal assistant Juxtaposer who made me another what I AM.
They have this light-show every night with music and stuff - even the ferries are part of it. This is hand-held, ISO 6400.
Really pleased with how this picture of a Snow Leopard at Marwell Wildlife Park came out. There is almost a sadness her the eyes as she stares out into the park, it is no wonder there is a sadness with the snow leopard being classified as vulnerable by the WWF and only around 4000 of these majestic cats left!
The elegant and well-camouflaged snow leopard is one of the world’s most elusive cats. Thinly spread across 12 countries in central Asia, it’s at home in high, rugged mountain landscapes. But habitat deterioration, habitat loss, poaching and climate change are now threatening their survival.
The snow leopard has a beautiful, spotted coat, thick enough to insulate them from the cold. Their wide, fur-covered feet distribute their weight over soft snow, like natural snowshoes.
Snow leopards are solitary creatures, and skillful predators, able to kill prey up to three times their own weight in challenging terrain. It’s been found that poaching and retaliatory killing (as a consequence of a snow leopard killing livestock) are sometimes linked, and the attitudes and support from local communities living in these remote mountain areas are critical to the success of snow leopard conservation.

Really happy to have this photo selected for the Mobile Photo Now exhibition at the Columbus Museum of Art, starting tomorrow! The following photos were also selected for this exhibit:

Really had a hard time photographing this one. I used a drier for the paint that I normally do not use that created an uneven sheen that does not sit well with the camera sensor. While it is not noticeable looking at the painting, it is quite noticeable on the photo unfortunately.
Really liked the setting here for the egret, and the lovely details in the capture. Recommend viewing large to take them in.
It was supposed to warm up today, but no.... it stayed at -18C through most of the day. On the way for groceries, I noticed it was so cold that the creek appeared to be steaming.
Really enjoyed seeing Siskins in the Lake District last week, we don’t see them here in Formby often.

This Sydney Sulphur Crested Cockatoo was trying very hard to stay upright as it was so windy. Not a great shot, as I was a long way off, but I really admired his/her determination to stay there.
Thanks for your visits, kind comments and faves, very much appreciated.
They really are quite adorable! As they feed on vegetation, they can often be spotted on less cold days in the winter having a munch!

Found this tiny wild flower in the garden. So tiny that's it was almost invisible despite the vibrant colours - only noticed it as I was lying on the ground looking at other flowers with a lens and extension tube setup. This whole flower, not quite fully open, is no more than 4-5mm across.
I really prefer shooting subjects in their natural environment in ambient light but it was too breezy to get a decent shot so I bought one inside and used a flash...
After some research it seems this is called Common Storksbill, a type of wild dwarf geranium.
Really impressed with the Canon R5's ability to focus and the large file size makes large crops possible.
Lemon ...with a seed just below the surface in the pulp.I have had a thing for all things lemon in the past year or so. No idea why. :o)

I was really hoping he'd take to wing so I could attempt to get a shot of his beautiful blue wings, but it never happed today. Maybe next time. Beautiful ducks even if he doesn't spread his wings. With his Leopard colored body feathers, gorgeous I think.
------------------------------ JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS ALONE!
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)

Photography really is a healthy dose of luck. I stood out in the wind for 20 minutes waiting for one of these birds (Eastern Bluebird, Sialia sialis) to land in a good position in the flowering crabapple trees, but if one hadn't done it, I never could have gotten this shot.
You wouldn't tell by the photo, but a rare 4 unit lash of orange South Shore Freight Geeps bring coal loads east at Bumtown (Kensington). NICTD train 18 does its best to block the other half of this nice, yet rare daytime catch on this end of the system. Thanks to those special birds for the assist on this one.

Really thought a panoramic view would get the best view of the field. A wonderful evening with picturesque clouds that made the picture even better.
The photo was stitched together in Photoshop Elements to make the picture look like a wide angle photo

Train GBSOA was running really early and had passed through Trout Lake just at daybreak on January 26, 1999. I was working as usual and had suffered a bit of delay getting my load out of St. Ignace that morning and was running pretty late as I neared Rudyard. A glance to the west showed the train rolling along and I took the Kinross exit and proceeded north on the old highway figuring me losing another couple minutes wouldn't cause the end of the world. I waited at this spot a couple miles south of Dafter and was rewarded with 3003 and 6640 zipping along with a short 34 car train.
With all the rain we have been getting this spring, the sprouts of May are thickening up really nice. I love how the color of the trees in this shot are balanced and heavy. Toss in a Providence & Worcester "orange" and we have our fruit and veggies for our diet today.

I am posting the picture that spoke to me this morning. It has so many technical problems but it represents the purest of my intentions. Every day I make another mistake when shooting and I am learning and finding value from the process. Today's error was forgetting to change auto ISO to manual so my camera chose crazily high which created all sorts of noise. There is something very difficult for me about showing my flaws and most authentic self. I guess we all want to be good at something and protect our fragile egos. Today I am taking a big step for me and highlighting my mistakes. We all make mistakes and it is okay. I'll keep repeating this to myself and let it sink in until I believe it. I must be a good example to my kids, trying to be perfect can create unrealistic expectations and great anxiety.
