It was really complicated to take these night photos of the Horseshoe Falls due to the large number of people next to the railing looking at the waterfall. We took a place, placed the tripod, and were able to take these images of the light show illuminating the Horseshoe Falls.
I hope you enjoy it.
Have a great Monday!

¡Feliz Lunes!
Every now and then you see an image on Flickr that really impresses you. Just recently I saw two on Andy Gant's stream of two different boats. This is not my attempt to copy them, because they are unique, but to praise them. Very well done, I like what you do.
Also this is the last image that I will be posting to Flickr for at least two weeks. I have accumulated many books again and will be putting them on EBay. Book collecting is a great passion of mine but I only have enough space....Thanks to all that look at my stuff, to comment and to fav. Best regards Patrick
This little guy was one of an unusually tolerant flock of eight little beauties I often see in Oban Bay.
We had listened for some time to the gentle sound of their named behaviour as they sifted for food along the shore line.
The look this one gave me almost looks indignant as if to say "what on earth are you doing ?"

As always I extend my sincere appreciation to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on my photos.

The Grey Forest....
The first really warm day in nearly five months found us traversing the back woods in search of some wonderful spring shots. in the north end of White Spruce Park we found this grey bleak tree section where the winter had just given way to spring and it looks as though there was no life left in the trees. .
Thank you for visiting for marking my photo as a favourite and for the kind comments,

Thanks to heaven for Mondays, the most exciting day of the week. How I missed my office

Monday morning blue, lonely butterfly and flower.

So....I broke down and paid for a Pro membership. It was just too hard to stay away from Flickr. I haven't really been out much with my camera over the last month or so but I have been enjoying lots of free time lately. ....I'm glad to be back!
Well, really Turret Arch, but a angle that makes the formation there really pronounced against the sky. Also liked the tree there growing out of the red earth and rock.
Willink Entrance Comfort Station at Prospect Park.Believe it or not,the structure is one of the restrooms facilities at the park. The limestone and yellow brick building was built in 1912.It kind of resembles a Spanish villa house. The restrooms are underneath the Tuscan columns off to the left and right. The park's maintenance office is on the right side.
The love of a father.
I met this father and his son while we were at the beach and I proposed him to take their portrait.
James (the father) was really happy about it. I am waiting for him to contact me so I can give him this picture :)

just after 1 am and I was taking shots of the snow as it was waving drifts in the street. I did not get much of this snow it was like a sandy snow, no snow on the tree branches due to the high winds and then it was like a slush the next day but to my surprise the drifts on north side of fences and houses hung in for a week before disappearing.
It really does snow in the desert, as this scene on Union Pacific’s Green River Subdivision in Utah illustrates. A short UP LJP45 local, also known as the “dirt train,” is about to pass over the small trestle at mile 607.46 west of Wash, on the morning of February 5, 2004, with a dusting of snow and more coming down over the Wasatch Mountains to the west. Powering the train is three Rio Grande EMD SD40T-2s, led by venerable No. 5349. Even though the train this day is exclusively containers of trash from the Salt Lake City area, the train frequently carried contaminated dirt, for which it received its nickname.
This better be worth a BIG treat!!!
Took this image as a contender for the 'Smile on Saturday' challenge entitled 'Headwear'
Although it does make me smile (well laugh actually) my granddaughter Sophie called in for a cuppa and agreed to be my headwear model this week !!
The village of Driemond (= three mouths) takes its name from three small rivers that meet here to flow into the IJsselmeer: 't Gein, the Gaasp and the Smal Weesp. It's all a scenic area, and there are fields and pastures adjoining the Gaasperplaspark.
Meandering through one of those fields I saw this really yellow evening primrose being visited by a Tiger Hoverfly collecting pollen.
For #MacroMondays and this week's theme #Stationery
Happy Macro Monday!
Thanks for all your faves and comments everyone!
I really appreciate them!
This cherry had been soaked in alcohol to make a Cherry liquor. That's why the fruit is so dark. The stem is actually from grapes.
Because of the smoothness of the cherry, I had to figure out a way to have the bubbles stick to the skin. I used a nail file to roughen it enough to get the desired result.
And yes, it would have been easier to just wait for the cherry season... but my imagination sometimes runs wild and in a rush...
=P practicing my english anyway...
“But at times I wondered if I had not come a long way to find that what I really sought was something I left behind”
~ Thomas West
In truth, this umbrella really belongs to a story involving a portrait of a Chinese couple, but that's a rather boring tale. I'd rather ponder this image as a metaphor for needful things left behind. Perhaps a reminder during this Christmas season to treasure the tresures we already have. Too often we leave them behind in the cold.
really running late today for the entry, placed a few sheets of pastel colored paper and explore a few patterns and angles.
Why do I have to get dressed like this, you won't.

I really do not know what I would of done without my 3 cats to keep me sane during these 2 months of isolation.
Apparently we will be allowed to go out for a walk or a bicycle ride from the 4th May onwards.
I will be going out even if it is pouring down with rain.
It's so easy from above
You can really see it all
People who belong together
Lost and sad and small
But there's nothing to be done for them
It doesn't work that way
Sure we all have soulmates but we walk past them every day
Welcome to the bird show Phoebe. I really don't know much about Phoebe. I have seen one on occasion during last fall and again last spring migration seasons. ID shots were about all I could get because he was so shy and so quick. This one may or may not be the same Phoebe from the past but it seems used to me already and if I am outside with the camera it is not phased by me or the clicking of the camera.
I sat reading my book (yeah right), on the glider which is located where the people swing used to be under oak three. There I watched when Phoebe came to play. He would fly swiftly and dip his toes in the main body of the pond and retreat to a bistro chair or a branch to preen and do it all over again.
Once bath time was over Phoebe perched in the willow tree located in the bog and began searching for caterpillars. Sorry Phoebe, the palm warblers beat you to them, I though to myself. I wish I had beaten the palm warblers to them but those little guys are up too early for me to be so lucky. Of course, I would raise the caterpillars if I found them, not eat them :)
The time for raising butterflies for the season is about over. We occasionally get a cold snap in December and butterflies don't really like the cold. And I am not equipped to keep them indoors if they hatch during a cold snap. So, after I raise and release the few monarch and goldrim butterflies that are currently in protective custody that will be all for the year. I didn't bother trying to keep count of how many butterflies I raised this year but it was a bunch.
Have a wonderful day and as always, happy snapping.
It was really cold on top of mountain. I am looking at Sugar Hollow in the winter with no snow. I took a picture when leaves were out in the fall colors. Then there were lots of reds, yellows etc... Now the trees are bare and farms go into a slow speed in winter. I am surprise that was able to take a photo with my tri-pod. It was that cold and windy.
