I really love this shot. I was going to hold off on posting it, because I've had a few edits that I wasn't going to make public yet, but when I did this one, I decided to post them all! This is my favorite and I couldn't wait!

For some reason, I haven't hit Explore for about 2 1/2 years, and I really wish this one could make the difference. Whether it ever does or not, I still like it and hope you do, too!

I continue to feel more normal each day, and though I'm still a trifle congested, it's not much more than on a regular allergy kind of day! Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers during this time. I very much appreciate it!

i slept a lot because i was tired of the long journey yesterday. This morning around 11 O'clock i took a walk in the beautiful mountains.

Sometimes turning your pictures black and white can wield really good results.

Willink Entrance Comfort Station at Prospect Park.Believe it or not,the structure is one of the restrooms facilities at the park. The limestone and yellow brick building was built in 1912.It kind of resembles a Spanish villa house. The restrooms are underneath the Tuscan columns off to the left and right. The park's maintenance office is on the right side.

The Slow Melt.....

The first really warm day in nearly five months found us traversing the back woods in search of some wonderful spring shots. in the north end of White Spruce Park

the trails in the furthest edges of the park still had some snow on the trials but most of it had melted in the recent warm

temperatures.

This better be worth a BIG treat!!!

Took this image as a contender for the 'Smile on Saturday' challenge entitled 'Headwear'

Although it does make me smile (well laugh actually) my granddaughter Sophie called in for a cuppa and agreed to be my headwear model this week !!

Was it really worth it? I wondered again.

I wanted to believe it had been but could not help feeling cynical about how history repeats itself. There still were the same political intrigues, the hate groups that thrive on terror and human misery and I knew that there were enough egos and self-indulging crusaders to fuel another war, and another...

Caught mid-chomp, this Rocky Mountain Bighorn ram seems to be calmly chatting away as he feeds . Before this trip, I had not gotten a decent shot of a ram much less been this close (no crop) to one. Needless to say it was an incredible experience and I walked away a happy camper!

I really like this "head-on" shot as you can see the amazing detail and breadth in his horns.

Thank you for your views and comments - they are so appreciated!

We are back in Colorado after an extended trip to Las Vegas where we will be spending a lot more time, especially in the colder weather. We are finding many places to hike and shoot wildlife in the desert landscape - a new and exciting experience!

really like a lovely hand

Really like waking up in Honfleur and enjoying the atmosphere of 100 years ago...

This cherry had been soaked in alcohol to make a Cherry liquor. That's why the fruit is so dark. The stem is actually from grapes.

Because of the smoothness of the cherry, I had to figure out a way to have the bubbles stick to the skin. I used a nail file to roughen it enough to get the desired result.

And yes, it would have been easier to just wait for the cherry season... but my imagination sometimes runs wild and in a rush...

=P practicing my english anyway...

really running late today for the entry, placed a few sheets of pastel colored paper and explore a few patterns and angles.

I love the doors, it is a photographic subject that I really like, because they give a lot of play and come in all shapes and colors.

But this was different because I had not seen anything like it. It is actually half door, the other half, given the low light was completely dark. I found in a farmhouse inhabited near Ogassa while I was walking looking for autumnal forest.

I suppose that must be the gates from one corral, but because of the total darkness of the interior, I did not dare to make more inquiries, lest came the farmer with a shotgun and with little desire to parley with a stranger who entered in his possessions .

Normally, they are very good people and eager to talk but now, no longer trust anyone. Me neither. Not going to be that they let go of the dogs.

He had always believed that photography was a safe and risk-free activity, but just in case, I left as fast as I could.

No more to say, a door is a door, just caught my attention textures and contrasts.

Why do I have to get dressed like this, you won't.

I really do not know what I would of done without my 3 cats to keep me sane during these 2 months of isolation.

Apparently we will be allowed to go out for a walk or a bicycle ride from the 4th May onwards.

I will be going out even if it is pouring down with rain.

Really starting to like the Results, when using the Tilt screen on my Nikon D500.

I was just certain this stem was the perfect place to be completely camouflaged.

Welcome to the bird show Phoebe. I really don't know much about Phoebe. I have seen one on occasion during last fall and again last spring migration seasons. ID shots were about all I could get because he was so shy and so quick. This one may or may not be the same Phoebe from the past but it seems used to me already and if I am outside with the camera it is not phased by me or the clicking of the camera.

I sat reading my book (yeah right), on the glider which is located where the people swing used to be under oak three. There I watched when Phoebe came to play. He would fly swiftly and dip his toes in the main body of the pond and retreat to a bistro chair or a branch to preen and do it all over again.

Once bath time was over Phoebe perched in the willow tree located in the bog and began searching for caterpillars. Sorry Phoebe, the palm warblers beat you to them, I though to myself. I wish I had beaten the palm warblers to them but those little guys are up too early for me to be so lucky. Of course, I would raise the caterpillars if I found them, not eat them :)

The time for raising butterflies for the season is about over. We occasionally get a cold snap in December and butterflies don't really like the cold. And I am not equipped to keep them indoors if they hatch during a cold snap. So, after I raise and release the few monarch and goldrim butterflies that are currently in protective custody that will be all for the year. I didn't bother trying to keep count of how many butterflies I raised this year but it was a bunch.

Have a wonderful day and as always, happy snapping.

Really nice weather allowed this ship board ‘ obligatory’ image as we approached The Rock

Not really, but we went on a day trip, cool, deep blue sky, and a lot of green...I chilled for a while, wondering what it would look like under one of the two Super Moons, experienced globally recently...And this is what I thought. Then a long walk back to reality! Sometimes the imagination will just burst out!

just after 1 am and I was taking shots of the snow as it was waving drifts in the street. I did not get much of this snow it was like a sandy snow, no snow on the tree branches due to the high winds and then it was like a slush the next day but to my surprise the drifts on north side of fences and houses hung in for a week before disappearing.

A view if where I was in my car mirror

I really appreciate your visit, comment or fave - thanks so much.

Seagulls really do love chips. On the beach a Whitianga after a dinner of fish and chips we gave some leftovers to some eager wildlife.

I wish I could claim all the credit for this but the camera was doing all the hard work!

21st February 2017:

Wet again so as Izzy was sitting on the coffee table I grabbed my camera and took some photos.

This was the one I liked best.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

A beautiful church close to where we stayed when we visited Rome. The tent on the left was where security checks were carried out before people could enter the church, a sad sign of the times.

I really like this shot but then I am not very happy with it. The Ibis that is on the right side is cut off. I wanted to show how many there was, but I can't get them all in frame. I guess I am going to have to try again. The other aspect of this image is the purple flowers\weeds. Not sure what they are. My wife calls them Florida Snow, because we always see them this time of year and it is everywhere in the park. I assume its a bud from the Saint Augustine Grass.

Really common but still no less beautiful

HFF!

After doing some initial work in Capture NX2 for saturation, brightness, and contrast, I exported a TIFF image to work in Color Efex Pro 4. It was then that I ran across a favorite recipe that seemed to really compliment the late afternoon light, adding those warm colors, shadows, and light that comes around sunset.
