Коли йшов фотографувати хрестини, то на автобусній зупинці побачив цього мексиканського хлопаку. Щось дуже мене зацікавило в цій сцені... А коли вже шаманив над фото, то зрозумів чого. Він читав газету на останніх сторінках, де є оголошення про роботу. Криза!
About 6:45 pm, just north of St. Philip's Cathedral, Birmingham. She was so engrossed in the book, even with lots of people passing by, that I was surprised she gave permission for the photo. She was reading Thomas Mann's 'The Magic Mountain' (a book I haven't finished), and said it was okay to interrupt her there.

Although Eddi Reader has been performing since the early 1980s (perhaps most notably with Fairground Attraction) I first heard of her on a listserv about eight years ago. At the time, her Angels & Electricity CD had just been released, and the song, "Bell, Book And Candle" knocked me out.
I got my first chance to see her perform about five years ago or so when she was touring with the Hot House Flowers. I'd obtained a comp to the show, but couldn't make it due to another commitment that came up at the last minute.
I had been afraid the only way I'd be able to see her was to go to the UK (she's from Scotland)... I feared she'd never return stateside.
Last night, however, she was at Chicago's Martyrs' and she opened the show with "Bell, Book And Candle" .
It was also great to meet fellow flickr'r p2wy and hang out with him for a spell.

Spring has been chilly (after a balmy end of winter) so somebody thought the little guy needed a scarf and woven hat. The sun glasses are because the sun is brighter this time of year.
About 5:20 pm, Bowerham Road, Lancaster (just below the University of Cumbria). I saw her approaching me on the pavement, explained my project, and asked if if could go back down the road along the way she was going and take her picture when she went by. I took a full length picture because I like the red shoes. She was reading Shakespeare's Othello.
I have seen several people walking while reading, and have on previous example in this series, but usually I am not fast enough to ask their permission. So I am unusually grateful that she was willing.

You asked to see my favorite book? Well although I am an avid reader of fiction and mystery novels by authors such as John Sandford, Clive Cussler, David Baldacci, Dean Koontz, J.A. Jance, and Jack Higgins. I actually have three books that are my treasures and represent some of the best years of my life. My high school year book representing my high school years September 1962 - June 1966, My USMC book February 1968 – February 1972, I don’t have anything from my time with Lockheed March 1972 - March 1983. Last the book presented to me by my friends and coworkers upon my retirement from Boeing representing my time with Rockwell International, Rocketdyne, and Boeing April 1983 – September 2008.
