Queen Square, London, 2 pm. At lunch time on this sunny day, there were lots of people out in the squares of Bloomsbury. I wanted to get two readers in the same shot, and fortunately they both gave permission. The woman on the left is reading 'The Forgotten' by David Baldacci; the woman on the right is reading 'Clear and Present Danger' by Tom Clancy.

No idea how you actually share what you are reading. Very odd UI.
Also wonder how the icon is done for the feeds. It seems to pick up a very low resolution from somewhere...
The card reader has been upgraded for BART with something a little more visible, more responsive, and less reading errors.
The disc size is about the same as those wireless devices you use while waiting for a table at a restaurant.

I'm not that thrilled with this...it sticks out a little from my HP Mini and the parts that stick out are sharp. I was hoping to keep it in the netbook since I wanted to use the netbook as a photo storage device. This makes it less pleasant to do so. :grumbling:
Some people will do anything for a book. Ha!
Okay, so all Vegas natives, celebrating that fact at Dino's, Vegas' oldest dive bar.
Music Room, Sun Square, Lancaster, 2:55 pm. I have taken several of these reader photos in Sun Square (29, 61, 77), but people do read interesting things there. In this case, I was attracted by the many little blue tabs, just visible here, that suggested a very careful reading. I explained my project and asked permission. The book (as you can just read here) is David Knight's The Making of Modern Science. Chris is a philosopher, and he is reading it as background for his work on J. S. Mill. It turns out that his office is on the floor below mine (I have already taken a photo of someone else from his department, on campus, 25).
Thank you for participating in my project, and apologies for interrupting your reading and thinking. Other photos in my series of readers are here: www.flickr.com/photos/greg_myers/albums/72157652125931010.
Dublin's sixth annual Readers' Day took place in the Civic Offices on 6th October. The event brings readers and writers together. Over 200 readers from book clubs attached to Dublin City Libraries attended, and they discussed a range of issues with well-known writers. Among them was Louis de Bernières, the acclaimed author of 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin'. He spoke about the impact writing the book has had on his life. Carlo Gebler, Adrienne Dines, Gerald Dawe and Ailbhe Smith asked whether female authors write too many dull novels about domestic life. A fascinating discussion followed.
According to Divisional Librarian Jane Alger, "supporting book clubs is an important activity of Dublin City Libraries. Nearly 100 book clubs are currently supported through provision of books, information about new publications and reading-related events such as author visits. The main benefit is to introduce readers to books they would not normally read and enable discussion on the various topics in a social environment".
