The Comet and the Cosmic Ray.
This is a photo I was taking of Comet Jacques (a fuzzy area towards the bottom left. A Cosmic ray hit the sensor of the camera, which can be seen as a squiggly line towards the top center of the image. These rays are very powerful, (ionizing radiation, meaning that they can mess up DNA replication to cause mutations, or other bad things.) The atmosphere protects us against much of them, but folks living at higher altitudes get greater exposure to them. Typically, I see cosmic rays hit my camera about once every 2 hours. (I'm at sea level)

Ray pointing out all of his projects in his compact but well-equipped workshop. Everything has a place, and all within arm's reach.
After the crazy storm cells had passed by this afternoon, they left behind terribly humid air, heavy and calm. The good thing about that kind of air is that it can make great rays, and that's what happened, just before sunset!
