British actor and director Ray Milland (1905-1986) had a screen career that ran from 1929 to 1985. He appeared in many Hollywood movies as the archetypal, unflappable British gentleman. Milland is best remembered for his gut-wrenching, Academy Award–winning portrayal of an alcoholic writer in The Lost Weekend (1945), for the murder-plotting husband in Dial M for Murder (1954), and as Oliver Barrett III in Love Story (1970).

I love sunflowers so I planted some in my yard and the other morning I went out and had some fun shooting them. I like how the rays of sunlight are coming down. Hope you all are having a great weekend!

On many mornings this ray and its family are feeding near the currents under the bay bridge as I walk or run by at dawn. They are poetry in motion.
Soaring on wings that cannot fly
scouring the sand for life
drifting over beds where treasures lie
living below the worldly strife
The gentle undulation of sturdy wings
in grace beyond mere mortals
the joy of spirit within sings
with this glimpse of other portals
With colors of grey, or blue or green
the angels of the deep
glide stately by when they are seen
giving memories to keep

This is a spot I had not really considered worthwhile, but after visting here for some wedding photos (in front of the lens), I decided to come back and check it out for a Sunset and I think I'll add it to my list of spots now :)
