My metal RAW project intended for week 3 is still a work in progress. In the mean time these comic book style rings are inspired by an observation by my youngest brother that I channel mom & dad pretty well.
I felt the photo was unusual in that it appears to have been been edited. This is him...full plummage attempting to attract a female. We found each other on a plantation in South Carolina.. Anyway, I was taken with the photo because of it's painting-like "look.". Zoom at 370mm, ISO 1250, f 6.3 1/250 at a distance of 8 feet was likely while why the photo appears as it does. RAW and straight to JPEG for flickr. I also think that his plummage spread, which was about 8 ft wide and 5 ft high created a unique shadowing given we were in full sunlight.
Shot at the San Francisco Zoo. This is a single Raw file with several 16-bit exposures exported from Lightroom and made into HDR with Photomatix's detail enhancer.

Lagrimas que en silencio se expresan tan solo buscando calma y luego a su cause regresan por los caminos del alma.
We got this recipe from the Boutenko family's "Raw Family Signature Recipes" book. Joe's allergic to sunflower seeds, so we substituted pumpkin seeds and hemp seeds.
Not as cuddly as the one you usually see me wearing.
It's a super-duper all-in-one respirator, face shield, hard hat, ear protector, and double-chin hider.
It scared all the critters, but I think it will serve me well working in my shop.
Another plume beauty. One of my favorite stones, they are just delicious !!

Schnitzel with Red Beet Cacao Mousse, Caramelized Onions and Lemon-Herb-Crème fraîche
I've been living on this salad lately and have felt so energized and satisfied each time I have a bowl. It seems to have the right balance of sweetness and crunchiness and energy.
2 cobs of corn
1 sweet red and/or yellow bell pepper
1/2 of a red onion
1 large stick celery
handful of fresh parsley
Slice the kernels off the corn cobs, finely dice red onion and celery, dice peppers and chop celery and parsley and toss it all together in a pretty bowl (or in my case, a glass Pyrex to-go container because this batch went to a vegetarian potluck this weekend).
One thing I'm loving about learning more about eating "raw" or "living" foods is that they are so often so easy to prepare, minimal dishes, and of course, no cooking! This salad is so great, even without a dressing. You could add an avocado dressing or just chop in some avocado for a little richness and healthy fats.
