even living here for quite a while, there are some behaviors i don't get in america...

one is all this gift card craze... it's considered rude to give money as a gift... but it's not to give a limited currency, full of limitations?

yes, the industry pushes it because it's free money for they: 40% of gift cards are not reclaimed.

but, generic gift crds? gift cards that can be redeemed on any shop? are they reinventing the concept of money?

One of the historic scores which run down towards the sea from the east side of High Street in Lowestoft.
One of a series of plaques telling the story of the Scores, the narrow alley ways that run from the cliff top down to the beach ( give or take a few industrial units in modern times) in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Once home to a thriving but over-crowded fishing community, the Scores now form part of a heritage trail and the descriptive plaques have been erected as a memorial to Jack Rose, historian. Funding came from Waveney District Council, English Heritage and the European Community.
