Sperry Wash. I've wanted to drive this route for quite a while. We came from Dumont Dunes and were headed to Tecopa via the long way.
I hate seeing things shot up like this. It's idiots with guns that make responsible gun owners look bad too.
Same goes for people on ATVs and 4WDs. /rant
September 29, 2011. Admittedly, I didn't take any photos today. I'm really burnt out on school, but I really need to focus. I also am really disappointed my Canon AE-1 is in the shop again because of a battery drain, but I am promised they will either replace the part or trade it with another for the same price. I just want it back.
But anyway, I took this on the floor in the morning light.
You choose the way you go through life.
Tú eliges el camino por el cual recorrerás la vida.
Tu choisis le chemin par lequel tu parcoureras la vie.
This charming cupboard in my local subway station apparently houses a fire hydrant, and a shouting firehouse. Similar signs in other subways say more sensible things like, "Firehose reel."
So, I really don't like the expression "The photographer takes the pictures, not the camera." It IS true that you need to have some skill behind your photography. However, do you think that a picture that I take on my camera (which is a Canon Powershot) is going to be as good as a picture taken on a Canon Rebel T2i? I'm sorry, but if you do, your eyes might need to be checked. (Not to offend anyone)
Sorry if you disagree......
I loathe these parking lots. In this one in Lincoln Square you only pay 25 cents/hour, but what gets me is that the whole point of this system is to make it impossible for parkers to share. When we had parking meters if you paid your quarter and only needed 15 minutes, the next person could park there and get a free 45 minutes of parking. So that was cool. Now if you pay your quarter and leave in 15 minutes, the city just makes more cash. It's not that big a deal, I just think it's a ripoff.
day fiftyeight of threesixtyfive.
(another) friday night at home.
relieving stress (and reliving it at the same time).
i'm going to rant because i'm Fucking pissed off (yes, that was a capital letter).
if you think you can blame your $11,000 mistake on me you are gravely mistaken.
today was a good day. was. friday. go out for lunch with the boss (who just got back from hong kong). all is good. good lunch, good talks. good.
back at the office, some #$@% supplier tries to blame my artwork, which was perfect in a technical sense (this is corporate work after all), as being the problem in their reproduction.
i am strong, but not all that secure. although i've been doing what i've been doing for almost a decade, they scared the shit out of me.
i created "artwork" for a client. this artwork was to be produced by a local company (calgary). "the artwork is great - yes we can do that". "artwork" get sub-contracted to a manufacturer in vancouver. vancouver manufacturer sub-contracts production to printers in toronto. the job is no longer possible (in method or cost) as quoted by local company. local pushes printer to finish production. they do so in their means, and final product doesn't look anything like what i created.
"the artwork is at fault" claims local.
had me going for an hour and two chain-smoked cigarettes until i figured it out. still, i was shaking. i know my shit.
i want to throttle these fucks.
i think i need to get out of this business.
