So I'm not actually driving here.
I'm at a stop sign. But I will take this description to rant about bad drivers.
(If I was really driving, this totally wouldn't work.)
1. Why do people feel the need to pull out right in front of you when there is absolutely no one behind you?! This happens at least once every morning. I have to drive on the highway past this one intersection, and I'll be driving anywhere from 55-65ish mph and like 3 people will pull out in front of me. Ahh there is seriously no one behind me!!
2. Roundabouts. So, most towns I've been to don't have a lot of roundabouts. Bend does. Off the top of my head I can count 15 (which is a lot for a town of 75,000.) Don't get me wrong, I love roundabouts, when they are used correctly. It means you don't always have to stop and traffic moves smoothly. Or that's the idea. Weell, a lot of people, especially old people, completely stop when there is clearly a yield sign. No red octagon here! And the obviously can only go one way (although I've been tempted to go backwards .. really late at night when no one is in danger of course ;)) but I don't know how many times I've seen people put their blinkers on the wrong way!! Arrhghgsgh. Seriously, people over 60 should have to retake the drivers test. Lol
3. People that ride you, and then slow down once they get in front of you. That infuriates me!!
4. People that are going 10+ mph under the speed limit, and won't get into the slow lane. The SLOW lane, it's for people like you!! So use it please. :)
5. When you're riding with someone, and they wait until the absolute last second before they apply their breaks. You end up almost decapitated by the seatbelt (HA) and your life flashes before your eyes and they don't seem to notice. How can you not notice your airway getting cut off??
On a side note: I hate when any of these things happen and when you see them, you see that they are either putting on makeup/talking on their cell phone/eating cereal! (I've seen all and more.)
Okay, I think I'm finished .. on bad drivers at least.
p.s. I really don't hate the world.
:D
A few thoughts - not yet well-formed - but here we go... (tl;dr - Holy Crap - the Nikon D800 is probably NOT the camera I thought it would be and now I'm torn on my next body)
So I shot the big inner-city football game in Normal last Friday - Community vs. West. My wife teaches at Community and I wanted to spend Friday night within a quarter-mile of her location for a change so I decided to shoot the game. I had invited budding talented sports shooter Tuan Brown to come shoot the game with me - which he did. He shot with a Canon T1i - a camera released in May of 2009 - almost a year-and-a-half after my D300. We both spent the night shooting between 1600 and 3200 ISO at f/2.8 on similar 70-200 f/2.8 lenses (mine - borrowed from Stacy with VR and Tuan's without).
(Note: the image above shot at 1/800 and f/2.8 at ISO 3200 with -2/3 EV looks like crap big but holds up on screen resolution. The looks like crap is strictly an output of the high ISO).
Let me just say that shooting sports isn't for the weak of heart. Tracking focus is tough. I have Nikon's 51-autofocus points 3D tracking which does pretty darn well. Tuan had continuous autofocus but only nine focus points. And yet he did a great job. Kudos to him - he's new to this and doing well. And while my focus was okay, I was a little disappointed to shoot at 3200 ISO. I think Tuan's images at 3200 ISO look better than mine at 3200. Chalk that up to a more advanced processor in his consumer Canon than my prosumer Nikon - but that's how fast technology changes nowadays. I saw at least one Nikon D700 and one Nikon D3s at the game. Both Fx cameras. The D700 - which I've shot many times (thanks Al and Ben) - does pretty well at 3200 ISO. I trust it there. It probably even does better at 6400 ISO than my D300 at 3200 ISO. The D3s is the best low-light performance camera in the DSLR world. It's a beautiful thing - even at 6400 ISO. Just wow. But you get what you pay for. My D300 was about $1800 when it came out. The D700 was about $2700 and the D3s was about $5400. So be it... let the ranting begin.
So in the last few days, the Nikon rumor-mill, driven by the EXCELLENT Nikon Rumors website, has gone a little crazy on the LONG awaited D700 replacement - a camera I was almost certain to buy when it came out as I make the transition from Dx to Fx. I've been waiting for awhile to upgrade to full-frame and was debating between the D700 itself (probably now about $2300 new but harder and harder to find) and the next-gen "D800" which was expected to arrive between $2700-$3000 and staged as an excellent competitor to the similarly priced Canon 5DMk II and the eventual replacement for that - the 5DMk III. And yet the "D800" is going in a completely different direction - again based on rumors but solid ones at that.
The likely D800 will run around $4K and be a - wait for it - a 36MP camera. OMFG. 36MP. Seriously - who needs 36MP In a DSLR? Nikon's two high-end pro cameras currently, the D3s (the king of low light and a beautiful sensor at 12.2MP) and the D3x (the king of file beauty but not low light at approximately 24MP) differ along the lines just mentioned. Low light performance vs. large/lovely file performance. Both are not schlocks at either but they are clearly differentiated. I think it was long anticipated that the D800 would be 97% or more of what the D3s was (for half the price) - not the D3x. And yet it's moving into the realm of a lower-priced D3x (which retails for about $8K) meaning it won't be the high ISO performer the D3s is. The rumored ISO range is 100-6400, same as the D3x and only a stop better than my D300. I'm sure it will do very well at say 3200 ISO - but maybe not as well as the D3s. But 36MP - it just seems to be... unnecessary. Leave those pixels to the top of the pro line. Not to the bottom of the pro line. While it sounds amazing in general - I could probably pick up a refurb'd D3s for the same price (or close). I was 99% sure I would buy this camera - now I'm 75% sure I won't. Too early to tell but 36MP is feeling like overkill and priced too high too boot.
My world has been thrown for a curve - a first-world problem I know - but this is the stuff I sit up thinking about too much.... Oh - and West crushed Community. Sigh.
Type: Space heavy fighter-bomber
Crew: 1
Length/wingspan: 28 studs/22 studs
Engine(s): 1 Tiren Broad T-34 ion engine
Speed:
Service ceiling: Unlimited
Range:
Weaponry: 4x 0.7in laser cannons and 4 hard points capable of numerous weapons (though usually 4x 2.5 in laser cannons)
The T-57 Stalker is Ranter Tec’s winning entry in the HBC (Heavy Bomber Challenge) issued by the Trynin military as a direct response to the Boeing B-100 Boomerang. Technically the T-57 is fighter-bomber, not a heavy bomber. This break in the rules didn’t matter to the Trynin military who saw great potential in the versatile, heavily armored, single pilot, “heavy” fighter-bomber.
The T-57 was created immediately after the Trynin military issued the HBC and went from schematics to prototype in six month time. It was the first official entry in the HBC but was the last to go through military trials due to problems with the weight and engines. It took the T-57 almost two more years to go into mass production.
When the first T-57 squadrons were first flown in 2076 during the battle of [], they saw little success which was mainly due to their operators not correctly arming the T-57s. For the next year the T-57s would only claim two warships and only a hundred fighter-craft, with a loss of over seven-hundred T-57s. It wasn’t until [general] armed the T-57s with three inch beam cannons did they become success.
The T-57 is heavily armored with eight inch trendmite armor on the sides a two inch coating on the body. It does however lack a shield generator.
The Tiren Broad T-34 ion engines provide the T-57 with over [] pounds of thrust but its heavy armor plating reduce its top speed to [] mph. The broad emplacement (thus the name) of the engines across the whole rear end allows the T-57 to maneuver efficiently but again, its weight reduces its maneuverability. Although it does have two anti-gravity generators to allow atmospheric flight and increase its maneuverability. It also features an experimental magnetic thrust vectoring system to boost maneuverability and speed.
Most anti-aircraft T-57s are armed with the normal four .7 inch laser cannons in the nose and four 2.5 laser cannons in the roots. This gave the T-57 enough stopping power to down a small transport if necessary, and a light enough airframe to maneuver correctly and maintain high enough speeds.
Many of the bomber variants were armed with two .7 inch laser cannons in the upper nose, two 1 inch plasma cannons in the lower nose, and two 3 inch beam cannons in the roots. This arrangement of weapons gave the T-57 almost as much firepower as the Boeing B-100 Boomerang but greatly hinders the maneuverability and speed.
During the end of the Agronomic war the T-57 began to operate more and more as a fighter craft. This was due to the massive amounts of real fighters lost in battle and the arrival of the U-2 Bomber.
The T-57s destroyed twenty-seven warships and over twenty-thousand fighter-craft during the Agronomic War. Today T-57s are the hottest fighter-craft on the market and all but the U.E.C (United Earth Confederation) have at least one squad of T-57s.
The arrests have begun.
There are 10 wildfires burning in San Diego County this week. 9 of them may be arson. Arrests have been made in at least 2 of the fires.
What kind of stupid does it take to start a wildfire? Not a garage fire or setting a vacant shack aflame. No, a authentic, honest to goodness, burn up everything in it's path Wildfire! So far there has been 1 confirmed death, and who even knows how many homes lost. Oh yes, and 10,000 acres and counting burned!
Oh. Do I sound pissed off about it? GOOD!
this is me, post-vp debate. also, post-worst sinus headache ever followed by nausea. right now i'm just having a small migraine and trying to keep my food down. and trying not to be so pissed off by geraldine ferraro, who said it was important to her that palin held her ground in the debate and that her granddaughters got to see that a woman could hold her own against a man. EXCUSE ME? I think women have held their own for a long time, against anyone. And might I remind you, Ferraro, that the woman you are defending is not a big supporter of women's reproductive rights, or even rights of many Americans in general? This is precisely why I hate feminism sometimes.
River Dargle Flood Defence Scheme.
These images were taken during the fourth week of July, 2016.
Meanwhile, in the stretch of the river alongside The Slang, a futile attempt is made to dress the river bed/bank.
I say 'dress'.
It effectively involves moving the gravel around a little bit. Adding a top layer of soil, and flattening that with a roller. As if that is going to do any good. Or last any length of time. Come the next heavy run of water -- and Nature will re-establish it's own path for the river.
On a slightly more serious rant . . . .
With the recent convoys of trucks bringing in vast quantities of stone, we now see that;
(a) some of the larger boulders are intended to be used as reinforcements along the base of certain bank edges (which have to be excavated again), and;
(b) some of the medium size stones look like they will be used to create secondary shelves along the riverside.

28 NOV 12
Momma's got a brand new toy! I have four annual birthday traditions which I try to uphold. 1)The one and only cake must be tiramisu 2) I try to travel somewhere 3)I buy one pair of ridiculously high heels and name them after my age 4) I buy myself one good gift--something that truthfully only I would ever know I really wanted. (Just for comparison, year before last it was an Ikea lamp...seriously).
If you haven't already guessed, this years Happy Birthday to me gift is...a crockpot. What? Huh? Why? Yes, yes, for normal people this would be the gift that would get someone slapped or be thrown in a closet and re-gifted, but I really really like to cook (have you not seen my flickr set?) and since I don't have 199$ for the stand mixer I've been coveting for a couple of years now, this was option 2. Can one love something right out of the box...I think they can. Just the mere thought of throwing crap into this thing and letting it "cook for me" for 8 hours while I'm busy doing other stuff, is quite a thrilling thought. I figure this gadget in my possession was long over due. I did some online comparison shopping and sadly the original one I wanted for a steal at Wal-mart was sold out in store and online for 9$, so this was the next not crappy model for $29. Read a lot of reviews and most of them were positive.
I decided to break this puppy in with a first meal of slow cooker baby back ribs. I wish you could smell the house through the screen. It is insanely intoxicating. Somehow I didn't factor in the little kid in me syndrone which requires me to hover over the food and constantly poke at it asking, is it ready yet. I put these one at 3, and at the least, they won't be ready until 10pm. I'm trying to work on a paper now, and the smell is driving me crazy with hunger. I'm going to be pacing like a hungry wolf in a second.
So I was on another little mission today to find some potting soil. My basil doing so well, I wanted to start some other herbs, but Wally-mart was out of soil b/c all of the garden center had been turned into Christmas bike storage. Plus I guess they figure, no one's planting in Nov/Dec anyway which is true.
I left to try Target, but no luck (why didn't I just head to a garden center you ask, duh, but I had other stuff to pick up). I did happen upon some Justin Bieber duct tape. My obsession with this brand of duct tape began 3 years ago when we had the first duct tape construction competition. For an entire week we tried to beat the Guinness book of world records for largest dome out of duct tape and newspaper, but we didn't finish on time. Poo. My fingers were numb with the wrapping and sticking of that tape. It was the year before that, that I created my infamous duct tape dress which won me the Halloween costume contest. I used almost 7 rolls of tape to make that puppy. Then a year ago, we had a workshop on different uses of duct tape and making wallets was one workshop, but they bought too much tape, so we got to keep the extra. We ended up decoupaging all of our desk supplies so that when people in the office would borrow our stuff and not return it, we could easily see, yup, that's our pen, our stapler, our binder, hell, our office chairs!!!! Such an effective anti-theft deterant. I love duct tape to say the least, and I like going to the aisle to see what new latest tape they have. Years ago, we figured out they had University duct tapes you could specialty order which was awesome.
Update: Turns out, this may be another year where my birthday tries to screw me over. Got an email text last night from my besty saying she was going to have to cut part of the trip short. I was already in a shite mood in the afternoon, and I lost it. I do NOT have a good track record of awesome birthday's. 90% of them have been awful disasters. I could go on a whole rant about how much Time and effort and money I have personally put into making friends and family feel special, planning surprises, bringing in special guests, cooking all day and night...on and on, and then when mine comes around (oops, looks like the rant has started) everyone has an excuse why they are so busy, they have school, work, forgot...on and on. Okay, I'm stopping now, because I could go on for days on how bad they've been. Anyway, I told her to cancel the whole thing. I didn't want to have to drive all day just to have to turn back around. Plus we'd planned a photo shoot which I don't now how you could work it in that time constraint, so I was like F-it, I'll just do my own thing.
Two gun shots later, things had calmed down again. According to our lawyers, we will be taking a road trip to a closer destination and come hell or high water, I will have fun, or I will quote, be stabbed to death and left for dead, end quote. The lawyers really didn't feel comfortable adding in that last part, but what are we paying them for.
Tomorrow night, I think I may be going out to do some night shots. Haven't done it in a while, and I'm hoping the lights are up downtown so I can catch them this season.

I believe this is pretty accurate, based on 17 years of internet use and 14 years of working with communities/users/subliterate rant machines online.
Better bigger.
Pencil Sharpener Rant - Inkling on Moleskine, again
Yet another week passed seeing nonsense going on in certain poor company-wide execution. Poor logic, calculation and consideration (no those are not algorithms, at all) executed in the name of efficiency and ideal automation. Simply said, replacing human decision with formulae requires deep understanding and serious simulations *before* execution. Now is the stage when a lot more human intervention is required to fix certain poor logics.
Yes I'm a sharpener mining my my own business shaping the future in my own ways. Forcing some nonsense into me and I'll keep cranking until raging fume comes out because I refuse to play nice to nonsense. The day when I need protection is the day I lost my value as a sharpener, as blades are not meant to be protected, they are to shape.
Ok, enough self proclaimed heroism. This is just a quick sketch using Inkling on my Moleskine, graphically rant about my recent encounter with sick things. The drawing was exported to Photoshop using Sketch Manager and colored in a sloppy way. Enough to calm me down, call it a therapy.
Wacom Hong Kong is going to have a press conference on 28th Sep 2011 to announce Inkling officially. Since I'm a big fan of Inkling and still sort of a Moleskine fanatic while luckily being the stationery buyer of a retail chain, I'm arranging a promotion in October: Buy Inkling and get 20% off for Moleskine Sketchbook (large or small). This simulation of store display was done in 30 minutes while attending a presentation meeting. I'm very happy to be able to get support from both Wacom and Moleskine for such campaign in such a short time. It won't be a big hit, but at least it benefits certain stationery lovers who happen to love both Inkling and Moleskine. Let's see how it will turn out.

Personally, I don't want to take part in this battle. I don't care much for it. Flickr video has come, it offers me more options and backs up my reason for spending my student monies on a pro account. So I adapt, especially as this new feature is useful for 3D animators like me.
This fight doesn't seem to be fought with much maturity though, the images being spammed and put up everywhere are mostly photoshop images and spamming your point isn't the mature way to protest, it sullies and ruins the tool and community you think you're protecting.
But what are you actually protecting? Flickr has given you an OPTION, and you are fighting against that option, you don't have to use it. You're fighting to remove other people's freedom to choose to use a new feature of a community and tool they love.
Why not fight for better filters instead, if you don't want your experience to include video, then work with the developers so that people can CHOOSE their experience.
With the way these "protesters" are conducting themselves, I most certainly don't want 12-year-olds choosing what I can and can't do on flickr because they fear change and must protest because everyone else is.
And I myself have been spammed with a pro-video comment, which really is just as bad as the other side of the argument, so neither side really wins.
Flickr for me is a place to show stuff about me and what I do and my everyday life mixed in. Video allows me to show that even better.
Digital media and flickr are evolving. Are you going to refuse other users from choosing to take part, or help to allow people make their own flickr?
+1 in comments.
I discovered Flickr and the whole internet actually because of my PsVita. A great little hand-held gaming device with internet capabilities. Although never designed for mega surfing I never had a problem with loading until this new format. As you can see it takes forever to load a photostream page unless I load the old style layout instead. Unfortunately we don't have the option to view other streams in the old style.
I never have clicked on a thumbnail from the recent upload page before, preferring to go right to the contacts photostream and work backwards from the last photo I viewed. That way I never missed a photo. I use the PsVita 80% of the time for Flickr since I use the library or McDonald's and don't like carrying my laptop around or while I am in bed or (don't judge) on the throne but now I don't think I will be able to use it as much. This new format really sucks and I hope they at least give us an option to use the old one if we want.
MUST get home internet service SOON so I don't miss out on my Flickr fix.
The pen is mightier than the sword.
These are some words I live by, along with Romans 12:21 and a few other passages/verses from the Bible.
But this is for all us writers.
Today sucked. So bad.
I'm starting to think that I won't be signed into AP US History, Honors Geometry or Honors Algebra 2 (haven't figured out my math plan yet exactly), or Honors Chem.
The only classes I'm sure I'm getting into are English Honors and Latin II, because they're inevitable. There's no way Mrs. Frizzell would pass me into a CP English class, and there's no way I can not be allowed into Latin II since there are no levels.
But I'm really worried, especially about AP US History, since Sophomores aren't generally permitted to take AP courses.
And I'm just so down. On my period, it's a really emotional one. I feel like I'm cracking under pressure from church and school. I want so badly to do well but my grades aren't good enough for me and all I want to do is write and I have no time.
I was just talking to Kevin and I warned him that there are these periods of time for me that last about 2-3 days where I'm just really really sad and nothing cheers me up.
I think it's probably left over from the days when I was so depressed and suicidal, and I promise, I'm the happiest girl in the world now, but I do have these few-day draw backs.
Sorry for ranting :/
Now, not that I like to complain about things, but there are an AWFUL LOT of red rubber bands lying around on the street these days. Red is an unusual colour for rubber bands. In fact, the only place I have ever seen them used is the Post Office. I wonder if they might know why the streets are littered with them.
I made the mistake of letting my daughter play outside yesterday. Why? because it is cotton picking time. It all starts with crop dusters spraying defoliant on the cotton. Sammy's nose starts to run and my eyes water. This lasts for a couple of weeks until the cotton foliage is dead and all the cotton bolls are open. Then the ginning begins. The cotton gin is directly across from my house. They are my next door neighbor, lucky me. Every year at this time, since we moved into this house Prebble gets sick and gets put on breathing treatments. Albuterol and Pulmicort. Coincidence? I think not. There was a woman here who raises English Bulldogs she had to give the dogs allergy shots. Supposedly she complained to the EPA about the dust from the Gin and they said there was nothing they could do because the dust is natural since it is made of cotton. When I got into my car to take my son to school this morning you could literally see the tiny cotton fibers all over my windshield. The place runs 24 hours a day. I was so mad listening to it last night I couldn't sleep because I knew when I woke up Prebble would be sick. I don't dare take her to school in the off chance she is exposed to the swine flu in her impaired condition. My son already had it so I know it is around here. Luckily she is only in pre-k
In September and October of 1987, the California Department of Health Services responded to community complaints by investigating the relationship between health symptoms and community exposure to cotton defoliants. Symptoms experienced during the 1987 cotton defoliation season by 232 residents of cotton-growing communities were compared with symptoms of 175 residents of non-cotton-growing agricultural communities. Fatigue, eye irritation, rhinitis, throat irritation, nausea, and diarrhea were statistically elevated in rates adjusted for age, sex, and race and were reported 60-100% more frequently by respondents living or working near sprayed cotton fields than by the comparison group. These symptom rate elevations were substantially unchanged even after adjustment by a model of potentially confounding factors that included cigarette smoking, chronic illness, and some additional demographic variables.
Next time you are on I 75 going past Vienna GA and want to stop for a Big Mac I would think about heading to the next exit
This year was not a good one. It was boring, empty, depressing and soul-wrecking. My mood was a gloomy constant and I was generally indifferent to everything. Basically, my motivation to do anything was at an all-time-low and I spent most of my time sleeping, browsing the internet and buying stuff. Leeching on the accomplishments of others.
The few things I did manage to build, finish, photograph and upload made me all the more proud and happy, but none of them managed to keep the hiatus away from me and I took months of "breaks" between even touching bricks. As a result, at the end of 2012 I ended up with a measly 7 builds (6 if not counting scruffy-haired Freeman)... Compared to last year's whopping 23, it really isn't much. Still though, I don't think I've ever been as happy with a build as I was with the Nykrid, but even that is just barely a consolation price for the horribleness that was 2012.
Yeah I am very much looking forward to the next year and hoping that my situation will ever so slightly change.

This is an interesting “serial ranter” that I’ve found in The Hague.
This was the one I saw first.
Another of his statements:
While watching Wendy interact with her Dr. friend over e-mail it made me ponder the idea of open health care. Is there a model in the world where you can consult with a Dr. of your choice on-line (e-mail / skype / etc) then go to a physical place for blood, x-ray or MRI scans? I know that decentralized blood labs are located all over. Why not decentralized medical equipment. Wouldn't it make sense to briefly communicate with a MD who is the top of their specific field? I'm sure the doc would appreciate just having images, video and data mailed to the and not need to deal with all the patient formalities.
A FLASH IN THE FACE!!
I was thinking of giving this years Halloween Parade a miss due to the fact I was wasn’t feeling well. Plus we had a fine rain which is always a downer when it comes to keeping the lens and camera body dry. But I soldered on and ran into photographers I knew and only just met, as we waited on Story Street with everyone else.
Then came the bombshell.
Due to complaints last year. “No names given as to who complained?”
Only two designated photographer, one shooting video would be allowed to follow the parade, so we the Paisley photographers who shoot and promote our town where basically told we would be allowed to take photos as they came out the loading bay paisley centre building then to get behind the barriers.
FUCK OFF is how we all seen it to be!
This never went down well, hell it’s a f#### common law road and you the council aren’t above the fucking law you can push people off the road!!! But why stand there rowing when it’s a parade…
Anyway, one person was straight onto the phone to a well known paisley site that comes up top or very high in a Google Paisley search, due to their selfless promotions of our town. Needless to say people where pissed off the council could do this!!.
“Like I say, I no longer vote or hold any kind of faith in this council or government, not of the people but of the little fascists….”
Now I pointed out last years faults, where the coppers where great, as the stayed ahead of the parade and out the way. I also pointed out it was the security who where shit and remained to close to the performers, which meant they where in shot and no one, even the public wanted them in shot.
This mean photographers where forced to moving up instead of zooming in, trying to work round these people who should have moved up behind the police or down the side and out the f#### way. You should only see security when people are acting like c###.
I also pointed out last year how one security guy by the Abby wouldn’t even move one foot to the side for one f#### second to allow me to take a shot. He was told to stand their and not move….
If that isn’t bad enough!
This year a tall guy with kids kindly let me in front of him with his kids to see the drummers on stage. It was the perfect spot as we all waited for the drummers to arrive and no sooner did the arrive on stage a security guy to another stand there right in front of us and again said when I asked if he could move. He said, he wasn’t allowed to move or crouch down out the way and why he was in front of crash barriers we where behind, again an over use of unneeded security. So he stood their playing with his fucking phone, which has that? to do with security….. F### ALL THAT‘S WHAT!!
Matters where made worse when the photographer and video guys came in and got in front of the kids waiting longer then me. So that meant they had had their view taken and even forced to stand on the ironic crash barriers we where all behind…
Its bad enough the security walked around looking pissed of without them getting in everyone’s way because someone tells them, stand there and don’t move only for the public to ask if they will move, which pisses everyone off when they cant!!!… In my opinion there was way too much security.. I heard one guy say, “Don’t take my photo, I’m on the dole.“ While another said when the zombies slowly came out. “Fuck! Is this how slow the parade in going to move into town”
If I heard it then others heard it and that’s not cool paisley!! Your hiring people who don’t want to be there while excluding those who do and I was while worse for ware in my case!!
Then there was the fact the public themselves weren’t even standing behind the barriers heading up cause side and by the cross. If anything they where walking onto the road and at one point pushing through the parade just to cross the road and NO ONE STOPPED THEM…
It was more than possible for the paisley photographers to walk along the side of the parade instead of being forced to ask the public politely if they can squeeze in for a few minutes to take a photo before pushing on for another shot else where..
In saying that, the turn out was massive and the people who let me push in where fantastic and I thank you all.
All these photos where taken using a Hi ISO and NO FLASH. Some aren’t so sharp while others due to the ISO are noisy, but not a loud as my rant!!
The paisley council need to take into account its we photographers who also promote these events with our photography and its we who see the real faults and time after time you’re the ones at fault!! Plus these performers love play up to everyone’s cameras and don’t need people getting in the way….
flickr rant time!!! :
i just have one main question: how did this guy take the time and spend the money to create all of these prints and NOT ONCE stop and think "i wonder who painted all of this artwork i am SELLING?"
so, this weekend i had another wonderful case of me getting raped by another niave photog. only this time instead of walking in to the gallery and seeing 3 or 4 pieces beind sold that were questionable; i ran in to the issue of THE ENTIRE GALLERY filled with pictures just like this one. there is absolutely no argument what-so-ever that the focal point of this photograph is MY WORK rather than the photographers "interpretation" of my work. and if anyone wants to argue its not, than click on to the next shot which is MY shot as well as click on to the other photos which are WAY more direct. DONT FOOL YOURSELF INTO THINKING YOU ARE SUCH A GENIUS FOR TAKING PICTURES OF THE REFLECTION, I TOOK THE SAME EFFING SHOT!!! well, this guy managed to sell a mere unframed print out of this piece for 200 bucks with the title "reflections of life". bleh...
why the hell is it that i keep on running up on these fucking idiots pulling unbelieveably dumb stunts like this and managing to sell a mere photograph for 200 bucks yet i feel guilty asking someone for 100 dollars to paint a 50 foot mural for their company!?!? what the hell is wrong with this picture!?
whats hilarious is i kept getting text messages from some people saying "hey, im at your artshow, where are you?" and im like "what art show?" and then i start getting more texts from people saying "hey, some dude is selling prints of your work". so of course i come out, and it is the SAME gallery where this has happened 4 times in the past. I guess that's what happens when you have a gallery owner that just rents out his space to whatever jackass wants to have a show there.

that was ONE example of someone else doing the same shit at the same gallery back in 2007.
in the end, i definately gave this kid a piece of my mind; and had a nice long talk with his family and his girlfriend about the matter. my friend, if you read this, you are lucky to have such a nice girlfriend and you are fucking lucky i am such a nice guy that I actually feel bad for causing such a scene at your show. as much as i want to drag your name in the dirt for committing an unforgiveable act of ignorance im not going to because of the fact that you were very apologetic. There is so much more i could say about all this but i doubt anyone is going to actually read all this crap i am typing so screw it

So. I respect everyone's opinion of Miley Cyrus. But, I would like to rant. Since, I barely rant. Anyways. She's 17. You can't control her. You can't EXPECT her to be so freaking disney-controlled. Sure, she's made mistakes, but hey, at least she learned from them. Like we do. Like you haven't made one simple mistake, because, everyone in this world has. At least once. And I know that for a fact. Nobody's perfect. I can see why you guys would dislike Miley Cyrus, but then again.. think about it, wouldn't you probably do those things too? You never know. Expect the unexpected. Okay, I'm done here. I just wanted to say that and the fact that I love Miley Cyrus. Okaay. Bye. <3
