These breed at Kingsdown but the Kingsdown birds are near impossible to get near. Why are rock pipits on Thanet so confiding?

Photographed in the harbour at Ramsgate. Cervia is a floating exhibit for the Ramsgate Maritime Museum. Built to a wartime specification based on a tug design from the late 1920's. But this vessel was completed after the end of the war and named Empire Raymond. Sold in to private ownership in 1946 and renamed Cervia. She spent a couple of years working in the English Channel then worked mainly in and around the River Thames and Estuary. Tragedy struck on the 26th October 1954 when she sunk during an emergency manoeuvre by the ship that Cervia was assisting to berth. There was loss of life, but the steam tug was raised a couple of days later and refitted for further service until about 1971.
