Mariners Bar, Ramsgate, Kent. 27th August 2014. Waiting for the roundabout to be free from traffic was a patience tester!
Another shot of South Eastern's 'The Victory Javelin' class 395 unit at Ramsgate stabled between duties.
This view was taken in a reflective window of a staff accomodation office on platforms 3 and 4. Towards the bottom of the window can be seen the yellow 'hi-viz' jacket of a staff member who is sitting down and no doubt wondering what on earth I am doing!
Trees on Ramsgate Westcliff, looking a bit sad this time of year!
MY THANKS TO ALL WHO VISIT AND COMMENT IT IS APPRECIATED
Last time I saw something like this it was on Miami Beach... This Deco-influenced rescue station on the beach at Ramsgate, Kent, UK.

Looking down on the Royal Victoria Pavilion - now the biggest pub in Britain! Or so Wetherspoons claim - and they know all about big pubs.
I'm standing above what was once Ramsgate Sands station. The lift seems to have been out of use for some time. To the right of the pub you can see the P.S. Medway Queen - at the ship repair yard for work on the hull.
ST Cervia was built in 1946 as a seagoing tug for use as a fleet auxiliary by Alexandra Hall & Company Ltd of Aberdeen, Scotland. Today she is a floating Museum still undergoing restoration in Ramsgate, Kent.
The Cervia was launched from the yard of Alexander Hall and Co. Ltd in Aberdeen, Scotland, on the 21 January 1946 and was handed to the Ministry of War Transport. In December 1946 she was sold on to the maritime towing business of William Watkins Ltd for the sum of £36,000. The business had purchased the tug using compensation it received for the vessels it lost on War service such as the tugs "Napia" and "Muria", which were sunk after collisions with mines near Ramsgate in 1939 and 1940.
Whilst still known as the Empire Raymond the tug was employed with other tugs in the refurbishment of the Cunard liner Queen Elizabeth from her role as troop ship back to a passenger liner. During the working life of Cervia the main role that she was deployed in was as a towing and salvage tug between ports in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe. When based in Ramsgate "Cervia" helped free several vessels that had run aground on the Goodwin Sand Banks off of the East-Kent coast in the vicinity of Ramsgate and Deal. Her association with the port would continue for 60 years right up to the present time.

37248 stands at Ramsgate after arrival from Faversham, with 'The Spitfire' Hop-Pickers Charter train on 1/9/07.
Ramsgate Lifeboat station is one of the oldest in the country and over the years crews from this station have received more than 50 gallantry awards. The two lifeboats currently based in Ramsgate are the ' The Diamond Jubilee ' a Tamer Class lifeboat and the ' Henry Hays Duckworth ' a Trent class boat. Both of these boats are capable of sailing in all weather conditions.
A collection of units stabled at Ramsgate.I believe 1525 and 1594 are class 411/5 (ex 4-CEP) and 6135 is a class 414 (ex 2-HAP).
The two bays on the far left are late georgian/early victorian but everything else is new infill. Although the gothick part is rather crude I think it has the sort of jollity that goes well at the seaside.
Ramsgate station, Kent, 4 September 2020. Ramsgate Town station was opened by the SER in 1846 and Ramsgate Harbour station was opened in 1863 by the Kent Coast Railway (later part of the LCDR); both were termini and unconnected with each other. Surprisingly, when the SER and LCDR formed the SECR in 1899, which planned to improve this situation, it was left to its successor, the Southern Railway, to build a new link line between the SER and LCDR routes on which they built a new Ramsgate station in 1926, the two earlier stations being closed. The architects of the new station were James Robb Scott and Edwin Maxwell Fry, modernist architects, who built the station in New Classical style with an Egyptian theme. Discoveries in the Valley of the Kings had been made recently. Pictured is the light and airy booking hall; it has a vaulted ceiling with modernist mouldings whilst the end walls have an Egyptian style. Each side of the hall has large, round-topped windows with barley twist mouldings on the brick surrounds.
