Walking along the path with the East Cliff dominating in the background, providing shelter from the elements.
28.1.2016 Ramsgate.
The sun was shining so it seemed the obvious place to go - quite a few others had the same idea!.
I didn't have long with the bird and most of the time it never came closer than 30-40 yards.
2 similar shots but with different crops and slightly differing lighting. I couldn't decide which to leave out so put both up.
Edwardian cast-iron shelter, one of fourteen along the town's seafront. Restored 2012 by the Ramsgate Society using various funding sources including the Monument Trust and National Lottery. Ramsgate, Kent.

Preserved 2 epb 5759 looks good at Ramsgate depot open day, hopefully will soon be running on the main line under it's own power again. 8 June 2019.
My first trip to Ramsgate ever, I'm 68, disabled, British and a pensioner, loved the place. It was a scene very reminiscent of the south of France. The blue sky was reflected in the water, just gorgeous!
I stayed at a flat run by Halisi Apartments, £120/night, small but clean and all the amenities, just a few minutes from the town centre, look them up, well worth the money.
I'm certain to return, so much history, great pubs, superb restaurants. Be sure to try La Magnolia, a wonderful Italian restaurant with views over the Royal Dock.
Ramsgate.
View of a sandpiper disturbed/attracted to the mating call being squawked by Phil Milton. An excellent performance and totally convincing to my untrained ear.

Mariners Bar, Ramsgate, Kent. 27th August 2014. Waiting for the roundabout to be free from traffic was a patience tester!
Another shot of South Eastern's 'The Victory Javelin' class 395 unit at Ramsgate stabled between duties.
This view was taken in a reflective window of a staff accomodation office on platforms 3 and 4. Towards the bottom of the window can be seen the yellow 'hi-viz' jacket of a staff member who is sitting down and no doubt wondering what on earth I am doing!
