My housemate, Kathleen, raking the tinsel and needles left from the Christmas tree off of the carpet.
A dump rake was used to gather cut hay into rows called windrows. With the curved tines down, the rake gathered the hay. When the rake was full, the farmer tipped a switch to drop the bundle.
Once in windrows, the next task was to pitchfork the hay into haycocks. The last step was to fork the hay onto a wagon for transport to the barn where it was stored until needed.

My grandma owns approx. 3 acres of beautiful land with trees, flowers, a small garden, a shed and plenty of photographic opportunities- all only an hour and a half away from home. I'll be posting more soon :) I hope everyone can notice the small beauties I've tried to capture during our overnight trip :)
