The motley rake of wagons includes; NGVF’s, NGKF’s NGPF’s, NGDX’s, NGYF’s, XGAY’s, VHAF’s and VHGF’s.

Day 2 - Sandhill Crane Festival, Monte Vista NWR, Monte Vista, CO - Admittedly, this image is missing the foward kick by the jumping crane which defines the "Jump Rake". The stationary crane is demonstrating the Wing-spread-forward-tilt (other half of the Jump-rake dance).

December 26 - Late afternoon.
Just a few minutes before sunset there was this beautiful scene in rraking light.

Favorite groundhog gathering fallen leaves for bedding material. Tonight's temperatures will be in the 20s F (-single digits C) for the first time this fall.

Matching loco's and almost matching stock makes for a fine sight as 1Z16 passes Underhill. A few minutes earlier and this would've been in full bling but it could've been worse.

DB Cargo 66161 is seen leading a short rake of MLA and JNA wagons as it coasts down grade towards Warrington with the daily 6K27 Carlisle New Yard - Crewe Basford Hall.
Remarkably the loco is still pretty much in its original EWS colours complete with the 'Three Beasties' logos. A few signs of wear and tear on the roof give a nod to the loco's age.
This was not the intended target of the venture, indeed this was supposed to be the practice attempt before 60074 on the Knowsley bins 10 minutes later. Alas, even after an entire day of full sun, when the moment came the cloud rolled in! With the sourness of getting done I'd half forgotten about this. To be honest if it wasn't for the fact I haven't been out since and took a minute to tidy up some folders this probably would of been destined to sit on my hard drive un-processed for eternity..
A bit of a lower angle than I usually do here in an attempt to avoid having too much of the long grass up the bank in the foreground of the frame.
