This voyage to the family farm for a planting day was my escape from the city. I don't have an area where I can just sit outside and soak up the sun so the ability to be outside and soaking up the good vitamin D along with getting my hands dirty became my motivation to venture on down and help out my family. I created this timelapse in order for my family to post to their farming instagram. There is still more planting to do and I am eager to help out again once things turn around and my presence on the farm no longer poses a threat to my family’s health. I want to absorb all the knowledge about gardening and farming with my family so that I can take it with me in my dreams to start my own citrus orchard. But for now I am just trying to help out as much as I can because helping them also helps me in my escape from my super urban environment.

Can't remember what lens I was using, or testing. This was an early morning walk ... The light was very nice. - G

sans any actual raking (the leaves were to wet from the recent snow)

Lots of leaves to rake. No time for a break!

Rake (Clamming?) at the History Museum in Southampton, Long Island

An old, abandoned hay rake, looks kind of like it's been trying to help with my shelter-in-place hair.

With a lot of character. Fall is coming; ready for service.

Old hoe and rake leaning against a fence in my parents' garden.

There was always a whole lot of raking to do in my parents' yard.

This rake will probably remain in this position, but who knows when I will try to tackle the back yard task.

3 exposure hdr to not lose the detail in either the shadows or the light.

Early morning beach preparation.

I was out raking leaves today and it occurred to me that I haven’t seen anyone using a rake in years. While I whooshed leaves with my rake, all around me I heard that annoying leaf blower sound. I really appreciate the quietness of raking.

...this is in the city of Livonia, Michigan of all places hidden in a wooded area between neighborhoods. In the turn of 1900's a farm was once in this area. Apparently the hay rake had been discarded in this ravine; and over the years; this tree grew around it; along with the city.

The Tortured Artist

Jonathan after the taping of of his and Seth's comedy podcast, Uhh Yeah Dude, at the Andy Dick Experimental Black Box Theater in Hollywood.

A small pub serving all kinds of wonderful beers by Borough Market. There was a pub on this site until the early-20th century (probably the same building it looks like), though it was a cafe when converted to the Rake. (Older photo of it from 2008.)

Address: 14 Winchester Walk (formerly Winchester Street).

Former Name(s): The King's Head; The Old King's Head; The King's Head.
