It is such a privilege to experience rain (rain storm is a better description) in the Kgalagadi. The first instinct is that this now is the end of the photography for the day, but then the opportunities arrive....
After a long drought—some 54 days or so.

Rain on me, rain, rain
Rain on me
This the Tree Hydrangea in my yard. Most of the blooms were still on and we had a heavy rain, then a really cold spell. Everything out there became encased in ice. And out came the camera. :-)
This is the real color of the blooms! Even spent blooms are pretty on this tree. You can see my Tree Hydrangea album for more: www.flickr.com/photos/109694135@N05/albums/72157664242091826.
Posted for the Smile on Sunday group, Ice Day theme.
Praise the truth come to light
The valley of night she gives to me
From her empty heart
By silence and shame
The poison and pain flows over me
A Verditer Flycatcher (Eumyias thalassinus) was resting on a beautiful perch during a continuous raining. The colour of the bird was beautifully depicted against the backdrop and the raindrops scattered everywhere in motion made this a delightful composition here. Pics was taken at Eagle-nest National Park, Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Heavy Rain After Midnight in Dublin Ireland (sounded like a thousand people tap dancing on our Tiled Roof!)
The last rain cloud is heading north. So we are out for a walk along the south bank.
Here, we are looking across the Thames, towards Albert Bridge and Chelsea.
