Here is another view and close-up of a rainbow raining down on beautiful Arches National Park in Utah. There were a lot of photogs out on this Sunday. One guy had a huge L lens shooting all over the place... I had to yell at him to turn around to get this before it was gone. He did not even see it. We laughed and he thanked me. It was fun chasing this rainbow around the park to get different views of something incredible happening on the landscape. Put this place on your bucket list, well worth the fun and journey.

This rainbow was amazing. There were two rainbows, one on top of the other and they both made a complete half-circle. Unfortunately I couldn't stand back far enough to get the whole thing.
And the light rays shooting from the center were odd, as the sun was setting behind us (we're facing East in this pic).

In my garden, this is the only plant I do not know the name of!
I bought it on the market, years ago, it had a lovely photo of how it would become, no name though... shows again how deceptive photos can be, LOL. It is in fact tiny!
Anyway, it is very hardy, with insignificant small leaves, in late Spring... it grows insignificant little white flowers, mostly hidden under the leaves, in Summer it is ... just there?
Then comes Autumn, and the leaves turn on all the colours of the rainbow, for a few short weeks, two if your lucky with the weather, it becomes an ABSOLUTE focal point of attraction in the garden... pure GLORY... then it's gone again... till next year!

November through June is the dry season in Florida, and the 2016-2017 has been exceptionally dry. So, when the clouds gathered and the skies opened, I was happy for the rain. When it quit just a few minutes later, letting the sun peek through and producing this rainbow, I was in awe. I just wish the rain had lasted longer.

The Pods @ Southstack Coastal Retreat
Having a BBQ outside the pods and a rainbow appeared behind us. We'd had great weather all day walking around the cliffs. Just a spot of rain at the end of the day as we were setting up the BBQ so the Rainbow was a great photo opportunity!
How often do you find a perfectly formed double rainbow so well positioned over a city? It almost looked like a protective dome. I felt so lucky to have captured this moment.
On the same day as www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/26514237951, an hour later, this smashing rainbow appeared in the sky. I have never seen a rainbow this low, and never so clearly seen the effect of light breaking, causing the sky inside the first rainbow to be much brighter than the surroundings, while on the outer side of the rainbow the sky looks much darker (another optical effect of light breaking). It even looked the rainbow had a 3D component with the more blue components placed further away. It was an amazing sight. The black sheep in front was so kind not to run away, giving me a little foreground filling. And finally I realized I had captured two Rainbows songs in one image (Black sheep of the family, and Catch the rainbow). The hard rock generation from the 70ties will know what I mean!
I will be some time away from flickr, because I am going to Sweden, hopefully I will come back with some nice pics. Enjoy in the mean time!
