A couple of barn swallows land right next to each other on a mile long railing - just the two of them - and they quarrel over ownership. At the Nisqually National NWR.

I walked along the canal path trying to find a location after a few test shots i had found my composition.

The tripod was setup on the railing and i used a Lee soft GND 0.9 filter for the sky and a Lee big stopper for the water and cloud movement.

After a big winter storm the snow on my deck railing got quite a sag to it without falling. The railing it self was not damaged.

A curiously named bridge carrying one of Birmingham’s busiest roads over the Birmingham & Fazeley Canal. It was named after the practice of paying the boatmens wages at this point on saturdays. Also of interest are the railings painted red on the bridge which pays homage to the fact that many canal bridges had red doors cut into them to provide access for the Fire Brigade to fill their water tanks during the Second World War.

We've had a lot of grey skies, so it was nice to see some colour today.
