This caught my attention, seeing how the railing was objective to the shadow laying across the cottage siding. The positioning of the window, door and light fixture seemed to enhance the juxtaposition. For such an uninteresting building in the town of Brookfield, Nova Scotia that I see weekly, certainly today it shined with the falling light. On the front door I see the reflection of the green lawn, the curtains looking like tree trunks then the reflection of the leaves at the top completing that imaginary forest. But my eye first goes to the diagonal shadow, then the lamp and it's unique shadow and closes with the railing saying I want the sun today.

This little guy was sitting on our deck railing in the rain. He was looking at me like he wanted to come in out of the weather.
