Your fork crown must be drilled for a brake or a fender bolt. If you're using canti brakes either detach the cable or remove the brake arm the cable's attached to.

If using a skewer, remove it.

These pics are from a 650B conversion that I did a few years back. There's a new thread on the Classic Rendezvous list server about these Mel Pinto tandems. Yes, they were actually made by Follis, and the geometry is correct for 650B wheel. They were fitted with 27" wheels for the US market.

I wanted to post this album to the thread, but I realized that I hadn't documented the building of the racks.

Steve Vance might say this arrangement of bike racks is part of the "clustering" method of sidewalk management.

It looks like the inset from the curb is about 1 foot and the space between the racks is about 2 feet which looks tight to me.

My "server room". Bought two wooden racks for $20 from a garage sale, screwed them together and now my boot room is also a proper server room. Firewall, asterisk, vpn and the old blog/image server. Switching power supply from an old 1980's micro-vax not visible in the back. Digital kvm with my homemade cables sits at the top. Still needs some cleaning and a bit of organizing. Maybe get a cable organizer and get a proper mount for the cisco switch...

All the equipment is old recycled stuff.

Lamb Rack. RM37.90. French cut of lamb, cooked pink. Served with sauteed new potatoes & slow-roasted tomatoes drizzled with crushed basil sauce. The presentation was good, but according to the friend who ordered the dish, it was a bit under-cooked, so she sent it back for some more cooking.

The Surly rack I (almost; the light mount was insufficiently brazed and it snapped off when I tried to adjust it) just finished sits low enough of the fork (it's designed to fit a 700x38 + fender, which is /much/ less than the tire clearance on this fork) so I can snake the crown stay under the fork (with a fender mountpoint at where a daruma would be) and attach it to the crown with a removable metal plate.

The plate is removable because the fork leg stays slip over the ends of the (unused) canti studs and thus is ridiculously stiff -- the stay juuuust barely fits under the crown if it's inserted carefully, so attaching it permanently is right out.
