Unexpected surprise that was forced to wait for a lite-engine J66 to get into Harvey before getting on their way.

Created from steel, it is powder-coated with a weather resistant finish that provides ultimate outdoor durability. With a surface mounting system, the R-8240 bike rack can be installed on existing concrete.

pretty cool... and simple. (I got it from Amazon here.)

a rack for wine barrels

Destined for a Joe Appaloosa, but I'm using the Rosco Bubbe hulk as a form to assemble it. The Vittoria Sturdy tires are basically as big as I can fit into an Appaloosa fork (nominally 2.3", but the knobs bring it out to closer to 2.5" and that's /really/ close to the chainstays & fork blades) so if I can clear them here I can clear basically everything that's put under the target Appaloosa.

Now to do one rack on spec for this Rosco and then I can put all the rackbuilding stuff away for a month or so while I grind my way through the pile of frames+forks I need to make (the emergency randonneuse, the feeling lucky bike that's going to North Carolina, finishing the 3 speed project frame, a front end for the Tarcktruck, a longtail, and forks for a couple of freebie frames I picked up and want to 650bify.)

And, yay?, 99 racks and I didn't lose my mind in the process.

This shoe rack can be easily expanded to hold more shoes. I used pallet board to make the shelves and braces for the shelves.

Rack train heads West past a few businesses, one with an appropriate logo for today.

How not to ship a 200.000 euro Netapp filer cluster. Minimal padding, harddisks and components still in the rack. No shock absorbing of any kind. I wonder how many disks are broken. Damaged power cable.

I finally got this thing put toghether and installed. Took about 3 hours, but now it looks sweet. I was skeptical about the quality of the rail kit, but it seems that it works fine. I had to go buy some extra hardware (screws) because I got scrooed by the vendor, but it's all good.

I had two pallets to work with, so I made the center of the rack with the best boards I had and had my granddaughter Kailey draw me a sea horse on them. I then made the rack around it and nailed them together, the hardest part was drilling the holes for the bottles, they had to be on a 20-degree angle so the wine would rest at the cork. I made 2 inches by three-quarter slots for the wine glasses on the top and the bottom. After I was done I put poly, on the whole, rack, the natural look went well in my dining room. It took about 5 hours after I had the drawing done

Sweet bike racks at the train station

Sprayed the rack today. It's not quite as dark as I expected, the walnut is quite blonde, but I like it a lot.

For a DIY article I wrote over on houzz!

(Added to the group Macro Mondays for the theme: "Summers and Picnics or something like that")

Took this earlier in the month when I visited some friends in NY. They had a beer pong

table on their terrace. We had red cups + crappy beer on hand, so that's as close to a summer picnic as I've gotten lately.

Of course, as luck would have it, the rack was a few inches too tall for my friend's truck when we went to go pick it up. We ended up lifting it on top of the tailgate, and tying it down with some old power cables… then drove on the highway. During rush hour. No wonder people stayed back quite a bit.

Coil of stainless steel, barbed metal. Each is called a "rack" in prison parlance.

Taken in 1998 along one of the few remaining stretches of fencing that yet had just one rack. The prison had begun operations only the year before.

Most medium security facilities have two racks on top, an extender "ladder" of barbs, and at least two on the bottom.

Now all the prison's fencing has 2 above and below. We also have a second fence enveloping the first! There is space enough between the two fences to drive a single car through--no wider, no narrower.

The Robeson Regional Agricultural Fair starts later this week. On my way home from work I stopped and snapped a few pictures of the racked carnival rides. The rides currently on the lot are all owned by Big Rock Amusements. I would have taken a few additional pictures, but my wife and I had company over this evening and I wanted to get home.

Custom rack that holds small accessories and pants/ bottoms. I'm a huge fan of the funny looking eyeball heads and they were used throughout the build for my mannequins.

This is a custom project created for McGuinness Photography to display her photo cards at craft shows throughout the southern New England area.

This card display rack was made from red oak with twelve individual compartments, and finished with several coats of spray lacquer.

Bicycles stored in a double decked rack.

I'm pleased as punch to see this project completed (other than adding a lockable drawer in the empty slot about 1/3 the way down from top. Proper control of the audio/visual system in my office's main committee room has been a LONG time coming!
