The Culver Road Armory is located across from Cobbs Hill Park in Upper Monroe. It was constructed in 1916 under the ownership of the Army National Guard. It was maintained as home to the 121st Calvary Division stables and training ground. It also contained the Troop H barracks, offices, recreation rooms, a cafeteria, saddle rooms, supply rooms, ammunition storage, parade grounds, an indoor firing range, and a huge indoor drill hall complete with spectator stands.

In 2012 the 100,000 square-foot decommissioned building began its transformation into a mixed-use development containing offices, retail space, and restaurants by developer Fred J. Rainaldi utilizing Phillip Michael Brown Studio.

Full view of the Pont De Rennes bridge that is located in the Brown's Race Historic District of Rochester New York at the base of the High Falls where it spans the Genesee River. The Genesee Brewing Company can be seen in the background.

The Pont De Rennes bridge formerly carried Platt Street over the river but was converted to pedestrian use in 1982 as part of a redevelopment of the High Falls area as an entertainment area. The bridge was renamed the Pont De Rennes for Rochester's sister city Rennes in France as part of the conversion. The Pont De Rennes bridge provides unobstructed views of the High Falls and downstream gorge.

One of the many gargoyles adorning the exterior of Monroe Community Hospital. Siegmund Firestone, a notable Rochester architect and engineer, was hired to design and oversee the construction of this new facility. Mr. Firestone incorporated many innovative ideas into his design of the building and ensured that the project employed all local contractors. Mr. Firestone also hired a talented young architectural student and draftsman Thomas Boyde, Jr. as one of his assistants, and Boyde then became the first African-American architect in our community.

Protector, guardian, warrior. We are all of these when we take a stand against Unweaver.

I think that Fantasy Faire is about protection and about memory -- we raise money to help end cancers, and we remember all those that we have lost along the way. Alia Baroque was inspired by this when he created Valhalla, the Fallen Gods-sponsored sim at the Fairegrounds. And appropriately, there have been a number of Norse-inspired outfits and poses that I've come across at the Fairegrounds.

Today I get to show you the very well-detailed Amnerystunic from .Viki.. Amnerys is perfect for a Viking or other medieval timeframe or roleplay. It comes in 8 different animal hide options, so you're sure to find something that suits your look. I really liked the Dark Goat!

I needed a little something for my arms, so I found these wonderful bracers from the Breeze outfit from Blue Moon Enterprises. My other pieces here you've seen before: the Bow of Galadhrim from Unity Maxim, Mizu's Raider Hatchet, and the Runar boots from R3D Studio

The Faire will be coming to a close this weekend... it's always so hard to part with such a magical place. It's more than a shopping event, it's a community event. I hope that you have had the opportunity to enjoy it. If not.. there's still time!

Stay safe and happy! Aloha! A hui hou kākou!

Fresh broccoli in a brown background.

Broccoli is an edible green plant in the cabbage family whose large, flowering head is eaten as a vegetable. The word broccoli comes from the Italian plural of broccolo, which means "the flowering crest of a cabbage", and is the diminutive form of brocco, meaning "small nail" or "sprout". Broccoli is often boiled or steamed but may be eaten raw.

The Campus Center opened in October 2006, the first new building on Oswego's lakeside campus in 35 years. The first phase of the building included a convocation center/ice arena and meeting rooms. The food court, retail space, meeting rooms and student activities areas opened as a part of the grand opening of the Campus Center Complex in fall 2007. The 111,492-square-foot building costing around $25.5 million in public and private funds serves as the social hub of the campus. In 2014, the building's name changed to Marano Campus Center, after the late Nunzio and Lorraine Marano. The naming recognizes Lorraine Marano's generous community spirit and $7.5 million gift to the college, the largest private donation in the college's long history.

Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden at The Strong

This structure looks amazing when it is all lit up!

The Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden is the only year-round indoor butterfly garden in Upstate New York.

Enter a lush rain-forest environment and walk among approximately 800 brilliantly-colored, free-flying tropical and native butterflies that flutter about (and may even land on shoulders or hands). A paved path leads guests through tropical foliage and two water features, including a cascading waterfall. Visit the chrysalis case and see emerging butterflies.
