The Full Moon nearest the autumn equinox is named the Harvest Moon since, during this month, the Moon helps the harvest by providing more light at the right time than other Full Moons do.
In years when the Harvest Moon falls in October, the September full Moon is usually known as the Full Corn Moon because it traditionally corresponds with the time of harvesting corn. It is also called the Barley Moon because this is the time to harvest and thresh the ripened barley.

USS North Carolina (BB-55) was the lead ship of North Carolina-class battleships and the fourth warship in the U.S. Navy to be named in honor of the State of North Carolina. She was the first newly constructed American battleship to enter service during World War II, and took part in every major naval offensive in the Pacific Theater of Operations; her 15 battle stars made her the most highly decorated American battleship of World War II. She is now a museum ship and memorial kept at the seaport of Wilmington, N.C.

the Jacobs Hall School of Management
An architectural masterpiece of glass, brick, space and light, the three-story, 23,000-square-foot Alfiero Center is entirely student-focused. djoining the Jacobs Management Center on UB’s North Campus, the Alfiero Center serves as the hub of student life at the School of Management. The center serves a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate student needs, and houses the academic and career development offices that assist the nearly 3,000 students who enroll each year in the School of Management. It also features three high-tech lecture halls, an Internet café, a suite of offices for student organizations and multiple breakout rooms for student team meetings and group projects. Wireless computer technologies have been integrated throughout the building, giving management students around-the-clock access to business research and market data.

Grassy stairs in autumn at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mt. Hope Cemetery is 197 acres of glacially sculpted land located along Mt. Hope Avenue in the Lilac/Upper Mount Hope neighborhoods. It is also adjacent to the University of Rochester.
Founded in 1838 as America's first municipal cemetery, Mt. Hope now has over 350,000 graves. Many figures of historical importance such as Frederick Douglass and Susan B Anthony have been laid to rest within its grounds.
Mausoleums include those cut in stone and cast in bronze. Designs include obelisks, Greek-themed temples, winged angels, large urns, columns, Gothic towers and angels of mercy. The area is also packed with trees and plants, including some rare specimens. A 500-foot tunnel was constructed through the esker of the Indian trail for the purposes of drainage.
Blue Moon - July 31, 2015
A blue moon is an additional full moon that appears in a subdivision of a year: either the third of four full moons in a season, or a second full moon in a month of the common calendar.
The phrase has nothing to do with the actual color of the moon, although a literal "blue moon" (the moon appearing with a tinge of blue) may occur in certain atmospheric conditions: e.g., when there are volcanic eruptions or when exceptionally large fires leave particles in the atmosphere.

View of a supermoon on August 29, 2015 over an American flag.
This is the first of a trio of supermoons that will hang large in the sky over the months of August, Sptember and October 2015. A supermoon is basically a catchphrase used to describe when a new or full moon in its orbit reaches its closest point to the Earth. The term was first used by an astrologer, Richard Nolle, more than three decades ago.
Waterfalls at autumn in Grimes Glen Park in Naples, NY
Grimes Glen is a long deep gorge that cuts through countless layers of shale and limestone as it makes its way into the village of Naples, eventually joining with Naples Creek, the southern inlet to Canandaigua Lake. The plentiful refreshing waterfalls that can be seen easily via a simple creek-walk through the park are certainly a treat.
Washington Square Park has its origins in 1817, when one of the first settlers and land owners in Rochesterville (old Rochester), Elisha Johnson, set aside some of his land to form the town’s first park. It has always been, from the very beginning, a place for public gatherings with Frederick Douglass as a frequent orator. Today, the surrounding area is called the Washington Square Neighborhood.
A monument was erected in 1892 called the "Soldiers and Sailors" Monument. Created in bronze, it is a tribute to those who died during the Civil War. It has a statue of Abraham Lincoln at its center.
