This modern glass office building features a prominent, ribbed glass dome that looks hilariously like the top of Star Wars' favorite astromech droid, R2D2. Standing proudly out front, the American and Iowa flags are ready to salute any new galactic corporate overlords that may venture into this building.
The building is home to the American Equity Investment Life Holding Company, located at 6000 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Following up on my tribute to Carrie Fisher's (1956-2016) character princess Leia, I have built R2-D2 and gave Leia neck and waist articulation, and swapped her weapon for her personal blaster. Here she is giving R2-D2 the stolen plans to the Death Star from the beginning scene of Star Wars : A New Hope.
More pictures to follow of both Leia and R2-D2. His 3rd leg retracts inside of him, head rotates and side legs pivot. :)
Sorry for the somewhat poor photo quality, my iPhone doesn't handle low light well. Orange light glow is from my salt block lamp.

I still have a lot of my old Star Wars figures and they give me such a sense of nostalgia when I look at them. I had real fun setting up these shots. It was like being a kid all over again :-)
One of my childhood memories was that on one of my birthdays, my parents had bought me a 'Jabba the Hutt's Palace' toy, my brother and I were having so much fun and getting on that mum and dad let us have the day off school :-)
