Couldn't resist putting another drip shot in today. This was inspired by a picture from one of my contacts. I normally take drips hitting the water, but tried a different drip from the tap approach. Timing is critical, but you get used to it after a while. Its still a ratio of probably 20 bad shots to one half decent one that you can work with.

Tested using Sony A7 II + Olympus Auto Bellows + OM 50mm f1.2. It looked promising but the lens doesn't have straight plane so the focus isn't constant.

I took Aliya down to PB to shoot some pictures, I am going to make a photo collage for my sister for the holidays. Of course since I was down there I seized the opportunity to shoot everything else too!
Quicksilver accordingly made the best of his way to the great gate, took a flying leap right over the three-headed mastiff, and stood at the door of the palace in an inconceivably short time.

The Full Moon for January was known as the Wolf Moon by Native American tribes - also known as the Old Moon.
For all intents and purposes this is a monochrome, but the addition of colour toning with the tone curve has introduced a duotone effect. Like the previous photograph, the sky over the Tamar Valley is quite dramatic, and makes an interesting counterpoint to the trees that line the road where I took this shot.
I certainly wanted the powerlines in as I feel they balance the composition so that this is not all about the sky. Mind you the detail in the trees, when you enlarge the photo, shows the great dynamic range that the D850 has.
The title comes from the colour toned sky. I can remember working with mercury (quicksilver) when I studied physics many years ago. The sky reminded me of that - a slippery substance, ever changing in form.

I was feeling a little short on inspiration today and so I posted on my Facebook page for people to give me some ideas to build on. Alper was the first to respond with "something Xmen". I've been wanting to add on to my Xmen series so it was a perfect fit.
I did a little Wikipedia reading and came across Quicksilver, a mutant capable of running at supersonic speed, certainly a power that I wouldn't mind having (especially since I have a 10km race tomorrow!) Apparently he's not just in the Xmen series but features in several Marvel comics which I thought was neat....aaaaaand geek time is done.
A special shout out goes to my own personal superhero team for backing me up earlier today, you know who you are ;)
