Hairy Moles -
Sensing disturbance on the leaves, she woke up from her dream and straightened immediately. I continue to feast my eyes on the orange sleepy head; fine hairs were branching from each mole, the whiskered berries make me smile. Only a caterpillar can carry hairy moles perfectly, no one else can.
I was trying and trying to get a shot of this one, when it landed in a prime location - on my pants! This is a fresh individual of the fall brood, with more reddish coloration underneath.
The butterfly gets its name from the small punctuation mark on the ventral wing surface. The comma is missing the dot.

That's what I'm going with anyway. My decision stems from another shot I got, with the slightest showing of the question mark on the underside of the hindwing, along with field guide notes and photos.
No matter what it is, is surely is a handsome specimen.

I honestly had no idea what to take today. It was actually the first of my night classes tonight and by the time I got home I had very little time to come up with something. thought that this summed it up!
A wee note to self...when trying to take a "quick" photo, don't attempt to draw a question mark with a LED light.....it took me bloody ages!
Experiment with question using backdrop of window. Used different shades to create an almost time-line effect showing relationship of question & time.
