Their Honours Brigadier-General The Honourable J.J. Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret'd), Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and Mrs. Joan Grant were delighted to host Robert Chisholm, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour and his nominees for the presentation of Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals during a ceremony at Government House Halifax. The nominees included award winning musician Joel Plaskett who has been a prominent figure on the Canadian indie rock scene for more than twenty years; and Aaron Stevens, who volunteers his time to make Nova Scotia safer for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning youth through his work with the Youth Project and Gay-Straight Alliances in schools across the province as well as dedicating his efforts for several other anti-bullying, health promotion and diversity initiatives.

Anyone questioning the collective intelligence of a flock of independent living organism needs to watch a flock of thousands of birds rise and land and move through the landscape like some tornado of flight.
Work exploring and questioning the semiotic values of certain items or combinations of clothing. In this case the the fascist and racist associations that skin head hair cuts, tight jeans and doc martins may or may not evoke in contemporary culture. Mixed media digital composite.
This is called the Rattlesnake Shaman’s Cave, in the Rodman Mountains, California. I have sat long and looked at it, and I don’t believe it.
The cave is filled with jagged, tilted surfaces, not loose rocks. Almost impossible to crouch in it, let alone sit.
I see a possible rattlesnake petroglyph on the upper left. I don’t accept the vertical bubbly lines just above the dark opening as snakes. I’ve seen those marks in other areas near ancient springs which climate change has now dried up. And puddles of water do still occasionally appear in the wash below this site.
Thus, even at my amateur level, the debate about the meaning of these ancient marks goes on and on....
In addition to my time questioning Secretary Sally Jewell on NMI funding in the FY17 Interior Department budget, as Vice Ranking Member of the Natural Resources Committee I also have an extra five minutes to make broader policy statements. I used the extra time make the case for Committee action on my bill, H.R. 4531, which extends the Compact of Free Association with Palau. As the only Micronesian in the U.S. Congress, I feel a responsibility to be a voice for all Micronesians.

the Police questioned these two men coming out of the beer store, they check to see if they are carrying alcohol. Usually, they will take it from them and dump the contents out, violation of their rights, this is often the case.
Scout and I headed out to climb Mt Tom today. I hadn't been to the summit in years. It was a gorgeous day and there was very little snow on the mountain, but it was cold and there were icy places along the way. We gained about 750 feet of elevation along the way and my knees kept asking me if I was nuts!
After they arrested me they took me downtown for questioning. They wanted to know all about the girl. The Fools, like I’d tell them anything.

I loved her, that's why I kept quiet... I'd never tell the coppers. They didn’t have a thing to hold me, I just pleaded the fifth and waited… waited to see that smile again… and the girl that went with the smile… tomorrow.
I have always been torn between religion and questioning religion. As I have grown, I have seen, and have had some things happen in my life that are unexplainable, which make me believe. It is times in my life when I need to believe the most I think I run from religion knowing that nothing can fix my problems. It is at this time when I know I need to believe the most, and I am trying my best and growing religiously (very slow sometimes), but this time I know I won't give up.
The origin of this piece came from questioning what it means to “move.” The artist focused on the concept of time, which is closely related to movement, and attempted to use movement to create a visual representation of time. Using this technique, the artist searches for the meaning of time, movement, and the relationship between them from several different angles. At first glance, this piece just looks like a lump of mesh material, but by projecting light through the slits, it recreates the movements of people walking. They are people filmed at the crossing of the various countries visited by the artist, and are diverse in age, gender, and race. When they are reorganized onto one timeline, this diverse group of people forms a sort of community walking toward some kind of goal, in which there is an inherent movement that differs from physical movement.

A red 0-4-0 saddle tank engine believed to have been built originally by Bristol's Avonside Engine Company who is a mentioned character in the first sketch, but he appears and serves as an unnamed non-speaking character in the rest of the sketches. At the end of the fifth sketch, along with Crazy Bartholomew and most of the engines, he gets melted down and sent over to Japan; where he was made into an annoying little four-cylinder car.

Description: The concept behind is basically questioning about the standard of beauty nowadays. Ive always been wondering why being skinny is tend to more outstanding. People are overly concerned with their appearance and body figures. We all have skinny obsession. Most of my life was spent knowing, being told and trying to lose weight. Advertisement for slimming products are all around us and all of them seem to be for products that promise to make you lose weight or to have a ‘perfect’ body figure with little or no effort on your behalf.
I believed everyone should be equally treated to all extent. I chose to paint ballerina partly because of I have been dancing ballet for almost 15 years, and most of the ballerinas are liking to have a 'perfect' body shape. Therefore, I imitated Edgar Degas's famous painting "two ballet dancers" but created a big contract between them - a super skinny and the other one suffer in obesity.. In addition, there are some elements in this painting that i didnt change from the original painting. Which are the tone and the positions of the ballerinas.
We as humans are prejudiced in our own way. Comedy is a great way to question established sensibilities and rigid frames of mind. Humor provides food for thought and can enable us to see that opposing views are not necessarily baseless. For more information, visit t2clips.com/
"Mission Statement for a (Photo) Project: Having a child is hard. Not only in the pure, physical responsibility, but also psychologically. Axioms and basic truths premised upon experience are upended in an instant. All of life is reopened for questioning, for re-exploration, and its suddenness is breathtaking in its brutality.
And as you are breaking down and rebuilding, so the familiar around you mutates into something new. What was large is now small, closed, constricted. And what was open and free is now daunting and threatening and filled with danger and potential menace at worst, inconvenience at best.

I began this abandoned project following the birth of my daughter in 2011. The above was my mission statement to come to terms with what, at the time, was so overwhelming. I rediscovered it today following a visit to The Photographers' Gallery's exhibition "Home Truths" concerning women's sense of identity following birth. I was trying to do the same thing from a father's perspective...

On a warm May morning in 2012, my youngest daughter went out to feed the horses before school. She came rushing back in to tell me there was a dog in the dry lot with the pony and donkey. I immediately thought she meant a menacing dog who was harassing them (although, quite honestly, I pity any dog who would take on those two!). After more questioning on our way out the door, her terminology changed to “well, it’s a puppy”. I ran out, stepping into my muck boots on the back porch. There, under the lean-to, was a small black and tan dog. Not a menace, and not a puppy. He was a senior Miniature Pinscher covered in ticks. He barked in my general direction but seemed to be acting strangely. As I was able to get closer, I saw that his eyes looked cloudy, he clearly had cataracts and limited vision. I was astonished that the two equines whose territory he violated had let him squat, unscathed. I truly believe they sensed his condition and allowed him some room. I got him some water and then printed off signs which I hung at the end of our street as well as another busy intersection (well, busy for in the country) near our home. Later that afternoon, I got a call. It was an older man, saying he had lost his dog, his one companion. He described his little dog with perfect detail. I told him where we lived and he drove right over (as it turned, he lived just down the road from us). He pulled up and I took him to the barn. His little dog ran to him and the man scooped the canine up and kissed him. He told me how he had gone to the Animal Shelter 8 years ago, when the dog was already well into adulthood, and brought the little guy home….his Sparky. He gushed on, explaining how Sparky was the best dog he had ever known. He then told me that Sparky has diabetes and was in need of his meds, having missed two doses at this point. He was surprised Sparky made it to our house at all, given his vision impairment. We said our good-byes, he thanked me and was on his way. The man and his dog stayed on my mind all day. That night, I went onto Petfinder (which is not rare for me to do) and searched for adult dogs in our area shelters. I found a Pomeranian mix at the Animal Control facility. The next day, our oldest (who was on a break from school that day) and I went to the shelter to visit the red and white 16 pound mix. My heart was sick as we filed past cage after cage of canines, all barking and distressed, each one needing a home and pack once again. We were taken to a back building and went inside to find lots of puppies and smaller dogs. The Pomeranian mix was in the very back corner, in a cinderblock-walled space. Her only view was the back wall…no other dogs, no windows, just a gray wall. She was all too eager to come out of her living space. She had an old towel for a bed, fresh food and water. We took her on a walk of the grounds. She was anxious to “do her business” and liked the time in the beautiful Spring weather. The little dog, known only as A015045, was well-mannered and sweet. She had been at the shelter for one month with the shelter staff estimating her age as 2 or 3 years old. She was found running the streets in Rogers with a pack of dogs chasing her (they speculate she was in heat). While I said, “well, let’s think about it” to EG, I knew in my heart we were coming back for her. We took the redhead back to her kennel and she wouldn’t go in, planting her feet on the floor. I had to pick her up and place her inside which was, of course, heartbreaking. After picking up our youngest from school, we returned to finalize the paperwork on our Zia (named by EX). She has been a fabulous addition to our pack of three, who all live in the house with their humans. Z Girl is bullet fast (her Corgi herding genes), howls when the doorbell rings, and is nothing but appreciative to have a pack. She is the sweetest dog we have and wants nothing more than to be cuddled up with her humans. This is the face of adult canine rescue. She makes us smile every day. www.petfinder.org
Seems old Socrates was constantly questioning everyone including the guys in power.........like Pericles. If you would have been a common citizen of Athens at the time; you might have thought he had a loose screw or two much like we do the street preachers of present day. He was tried and convicted but given a way out if he quit the behavior that landed him in trouble. Instead he chose hemlock to make a point I guess. Stuff does nasty things to the body before you find out if you check into the basement or the attic.
