Those with a keen eye will observe that absence of glass from the rims. Don't ask why.
Shot at f/5.6 at 1/30th, I was a little surprised at the reasonable depth even though I was using a no.3 close up adaptor.

I held up the camera questioningly and she smiled. I snapped, and then she turned her head and I snapped again. I like this better - there's a certain gracefulness to the pose and a gentleness that isn't there when she's looking directly at you.

Grant, CMM, ONS, CD (Ret'd), Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia and Mrs. Joan Grant were delighted to host Robert Chisholm, Member of Parliament for Dartmouth-Cole Harbour and his nominees for the presentation of Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medals during a ceremony at Government House Halifax. I recently undertook an 'Extended Project Qualification' questioning whether the work of Tracey Emin is REALLY 'Feminist' and this was my accompanying artefact to a 4,000 word investigation. I was first inspired to explore this question further following a visit to Tracey Emin's exhibit at the Venice Biennale in 2008, which first provoked many questions and thoughts regarding her work, following by a more recent visit to her 'Love is What You Want' exhibition at the Hayward in 2011. I created this quilt using applique and freehand embroidery.

For my sustained investigation I am questioning how color affects the way we feel. To go with it this week I decided to take a picture of applesauce and a orange. I wanted to focus more on foods this week instead of nature. To take this photo I got a gogo squeeze and poured it all out on a cutting board. I then moved it around with a knife to get a good position. Then I used ceiling lighting and used movement in the photo. To take the second photo I grabbed a orange, cut it in half, then used ceiling lighting to get good textures on the orange. I used pattern balance in this photo.
Materials: digital camera, photoshop, ceiling lighting
Process: put applesauce on a cutting board and rearranged it a little to get a good position.

A suspected murderer being held by New York City Police Department (NYPD) for questioning escaped from the 103rd Precinct station house around 2:30 PM on August 23, 2007. The precinct is not far from where I live. I was reading at the time when an NYPD helicopter appeared out of nowhere and started the aerial surveillance of the surrounding areas. Soon afterwards, it was followed by two news helicopters. First helicopter belonged to the CBS News (WCBSTV) of New York and second one to the NBC News (WNBC) of New York. I went for the camera and took these pictures of all three helicopters hovering over my head. But, I wasn’t able to take clear picture of the CBS News helicopter. As of today, August 24, 2007, suspect has not been found. Picture taken on August 23, 2007. Olympus FE-240.

This is called the Rattlesnake Shaman’s Cave, in the Rodman Mountains, California. I have sat long and looked at it, and I don’t believe it.
The cave is filled with jagged, tilted surfaces, not loose rocks. Almost impossible to crouch in it, let alone sit.
I see a possible rattlesnake petroglyph on the upper left. I don’t accept the vertical bubbly lines just above the dark opening as snakes. I’ve seen those marks in other areas near ancient springs which climate change has now dried up. And puddles of water do still occasionally appear in the wash below this site.
Thus, even at my amateur level, the debate about the meaning of these ancient marks goes on and on....
In the environs of Medellin city, in the south, there is a hidden park full of flowers, trees, animals, water... In one word, full of life.
En las afueras de Medellín, al sur, se encuentra esconde entre las montañas un parque lleno de flores, árboles, animales, agua... En una palabra, lleno de vida.

Oh, happy days. The 1980’s.
Several school parties I took, with colleagues, on Educational Visits, stayed at Holmbury St. Mary Youth Hostel and later, Felbury House, when it was converted from the village school to a base for “Field Studies.”
Each day for five, Monday to Friday, in Spring-time, we would strike out 3, 5, 7 or 9 miles on a circular walk (with lots of stops on the way) to explore the Geography, History and Natural History of the area.
95% of the time we kept strictly to footpaths and Bridleways.
We would become aware of the Geology-Sandstone, Clay or Chalk, and how that affected the soils.
Certain plants liked the acidic, washed-out sandstone, like Conifers.
Crops grew in the Clay because it only lost water slowly, as long as the farmer added some nutrients.
We got to know the pine forest with its bare, acidic forest floor, but huge and wonderful Wood-Ant nests made up of millions of pine needles and ants.
In the clay-vale we began to recognise whiskery Barley from grainy Wheat or thin Oat fronds fluttering in the slightest breeze.
On the Chalk Downs we came to realise that the smooth-barked, light-green leaved Beech woods and the dark green, gnarled, bushy Yew preferred the Chalky, thin soils of the North Downs.
Also, the masses of “jungle-creeper” or “Old Man’s Beard”
or “Wild Clematis” grew profusely on the Chalk Downs.
Beautiful, small, delicate red and yellow Bee Orchids
grew amongst the springy Down-land turf.
Huge Roman Snails used the ample calcium in the chalk
to build massive protective shells.
We got to know trees by their shape, bark, leaf and flower.
We began to identify wild flowers like Cow Parsley, Campion or Ox-Eye Daisies.
We learned about rural life and farm economies supplying the London and South-East markets on a daily basis.
In villages, the children recognised “real,” over-hanging, half-timbered Tudor houses, having previously made models of them.
They saw a conduit, by a spring, for when locals had to collect and carry their water…no tapped system!
They saw a Mesolithic Pit Dwelling taking habitation back over 10,000 years to the end of the last Ice-Age.
The inhabitants dug a pit into the ground to counter the cold, icy winds and covered it with foliage.
They built a simple hearth fire with a smoke-outlet, above.
They used “knapped” flint for tools, gathered from the nearby North Downs.
We got fresh air, exercise and played games in the evening, after dinner.
We saw views like this, and those children came to love nature and the Great Outdoors.
They weren’t just happy times, they were valuable times, that I know they have never forgotten…
And here in this shot between Abinger Common and Raikes Farm, I too, remember…and smile.
That was real education, measured by their enthusiasm from the heart!
So many people are questioning whether slim fast work or not. The method of Slim Fast diet is strictly based on low calorie diet that takes up meal alternates. In slim Fast diet you will intake 2 to 3 meals every day, the meals will made in bars, pasta or different vegetable soups.
