Sfard suggested there are two main metaphors for how we think about learning - acquisition and participation.

This quadrant diagram tries to map out the relationship between these concepts by focussing on the learners' activities.

fractal art. The "prettiness" and curved nature of the flower-like clover at the center juxtaposes the harshly perfect points of the square corners surrounding it as well as being a touch of incongruity adding depth to the violent explosive feeling of the image overall.

The Headquarters of Network Rail sits on the former site of the National Hockey Stadium, and is a typically large building with some interesting reflections in the windows. Odd panels too at the side, but this is an "eco" building I guess.

Roydon Common was the location for a wartime bombing/artillery range. The ground marks indicating the target have long since worn away. The remains of two quadrant towers used for plotting the accuracey on-target can still be found on the edges of Grimston Warren. The following NHER records are relevant (and contain links to other records).
