Images of the 3rd in a series of wooden templates based on the shape/outlines of wooden paipo. The boards incorporate religious images from various cultures.
This piece was created while listening to one of my Tchaikovsky cd's.
This gourd bowl has four distinct movements, as in a symphony, which is how it got its name.
The movements are all tied together by the "beat". In this case, the "beat" is composed of pyroengraved cross hatching that carries thruout the piece.
The ribbon represents the flow of the music, while the other elements represent the intensity.
All of the elements in this piece are pyroengraved. Colored pencil and acrylics were used to add color.
