Bicycles

Although I don’t ride a bike, well not at least for 40 odd years, there is something satisfying about a bike. It’s solid, reliable (mainly), an art form, it has a place in our society, an environmental champion, a pleasure and a serious competitor.

There aren’t many things in life that fulfil those criteria, there will always be those detractors but for me the bike is a hero.

Nice mornings for a ride.

I'm Just A Guy With A Camera From London And Some Place Else.

Many thanks for any "FAVES" or "COMMENTS" they're much appreciated.

It's mid May 2022, the sun is out and birds are singing and spring is giving way to summer across Lincolnshire. This was to be another good summer, and the one where the UK finally hit record breaking temperatures of more than 40°c

Thanks for taking the time to view my image. Your comments & faves are greatly appreciated.

Cycle Tour of Central Wales and Borders

I took a jaunt over to the garden centre today and couldn't resist taking a photo of this bike. I really must look around for an old one for the garden

A young carpenter's pride. He and the staff (bar/café) informed us it's a fully working example!

Another news spot, this time located in Dundas close to the famous aqueduct. Here we see GWR unit 166206 working the 17:30 service from Warminster to Gloucester (2E74) on the evening of the 16/5/21.

To reach this spot without a car or pushbike, it is a 50 minute walk from Freshford station, which is what I did on the day on the question.

Wrong time of year for this shot, but as I was passing with my pushbike on essential business, it was rude not to rest here for an hour in between the snow showers Anyway, here we see GBRF locomotive 66738 passing Norton Bridge on the afternoon of the 8/2/21 with 4F62 from East Midlands Gateway to Seaforth Docks

Another collection of People, Posters, Bikes and other things that I've seen in the streets plus a few shadows (these are harder to come by). Have a good weekend.

Following heavy snowfall the previous day and a tortious journey to reach this spot by pushbike, here we see Rail Operations Group (ROG) locomotives 37611 (front) and 37601 (rear) working the 10:34 light engine movement from Leicester L.I.P. to Crewe South Yard, which were captured passing North Stafford Jcn near Findern on the 25/1/21.
