Ridin' along on my pushbike, honey
When I noticed you
Ridin' downtown in a hurry, honey
Down South Avenue
You looked so pretty
As you were ridin' along
You looked so pretty
As you were singing this song
(The Pushbike Song - The Mixtures)

Although I don’t ride a bike, well not at least for 40 odd years, there is something satisfying about a bike. It’s solid, reliable (mainly), an art form, it has a place in our society, an environmental champion, a pleasure and a serious competitor.
There aren’t many things in life that fulfil those criteria, there will always be those detractors but for me the bike is a hero.

I have to tell you this wonderful circle Bokeh was created accidentally and also on purpose by finding the 'sweet spot' in my woodland, the light was pouring through the leaves on the trees and it made the most wonderful bokeh circles.. I literally put this toy bike on a branch mainly to do a perspective image and as I aimed my Helios lens the bokeh was outstanding, in the end I liked this image mainly for the beautiful bokeh and gorgeous light, I could maybe have done something further with the composition but I liked it as it was, so here it is :) have a lovely evening ( its evening here in England ) ~ KissThePixel2019

The coal is taken down from Banburgh colliery to the washery at Manvers. Beautiful and rural, this is typical of the areas in the UK where coal seams are found. The towns are built around the coal mines, they live their lives and apart from the inherent danger of working in a volatile and dangerous environment far below ground nothing much changes. Until the mine closes.
There is no income, there are no jobs to fall back on and there is no money to spend in the towns shops pubs clubs and cafes. It is a disaster for several generations to come at least. As I climbed up a flat roofed brick hut to take this, two young lads on pushbikes asked me if I had come to take photos because the mine was closing. Of course I had, but I was too embarrassed to tel them that. I don't feel sad about the passing of old locomotives, the trains stay, they just change. A4's for Deltics for High Speed trains and on it goes. Each generation knows what they liked when they were young and look back with fondness at it. Nostalgia. For me that is just the passing of time but here there is something else, I feel very sad to look at these. So much more has been lost here, lives and communities have been taken apart and left to deal with the aftermath as best they can, and many can't.

Gold hill in Shaftesbury was used in the Ridley Scott Hovis advert from 1973 featuring a boy pushing his pushbike up the hill to deliver loaves of bread.
Standing there taking the photos you always get asked if this is where the advert was filmed as most people assume it was filmed in the North of England.
One of the prettiest locations in Britain and the weather was certainly better than when I visited earlier this year!

I never go wrong in Pink ~ KissThePixel 2017
After a long long long day and having biked everywhere to the office and back and also having done a five mile run (7K run) before hand, I managed to pick up some pink flowers on my way home, I dedicate this photo to every young adult surviving tough examinations at University and all the hard work and revision and days without sleep and food and to all the amazing parents who feel their pain support and love their beautiful children x

COOLE PILATE means a croft growing pill oats. This place once also had a halt on the long closed railway.
Lunchtime exercise treat at another new location with the pushbike. Here we see GBRF locomotives 73963 (front) and 73961 (rear) pass through Duffield at lunchtime on the 18/1/21 with the 13:16 Derby RTC to Crewe LNWR (1Q41) test train via the Northwest region including the Merseryrail network.
Please note, this shot was only possible due to the dull winter conditions. If the sun had been out, it would not have worked tat this location.

Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal, to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle.
Today. With over 2,000 Greggs in the UK, the important stuff still matters. Like serving food that’s free of the nasty stuff (no artificial colours, flavours or MSG) and keeping the staff happy.
